💛 Fish Tank 💛 For today’s pet themed play we had a fish tank, using real fish tank gravel which makes such a great play base for the older children! I added some fish tank plants, some shells and some glass beads to the base too. And, of course, fish! 💡 The best bit about this was our fake fish food. I made this by chopping up some of the multicoloured packing peanuts that came in our @woodenulikethis parcel last week, because did you know - packing peanuts dissolve in water. It’s such an easy sensory base for babies because the coconut doesn’t get sticky it stays dry, and it’s totally safe for them to put in their mouths and even eat! 💛 Colour Monster 💛 Today we did some colour mixing - and believe me this was a real hit. She absolutely loved it and it prompted so much vocabulary and thought. I will certainly be doing this again. This is linked into our Feelings theme and all based around the Colour Monster book. Swipe to the end for the “total child led” finished look 😂. Mess was made. Fun was had. I mixed 1 part paint to 5 parts water in little tubs, lined them up into “sums” and added a pipette and some colour paddles. Snack: Apple Biscotti and Animal shapes (whilst out) followed by water 💦 Lunch: Bacon and Mushroom Spaghetti Carbonara@followed by Apple 🍎 and Pear 🍐 along with water 💦 Tea: Vegetable Soup, Bread 🍞 and Fromage Frais along with water 💦 Today, we started off the morning with some colouring with pencils ✏️. We tested our colour recognition, looked at our hand preference and also how we held the pencil ✏️. We talked about what we were drawing ✍️ and the movements we were making! We had a lovely walk around the duck 🦆 pond in Sandhurst and fed the ducks 🦆. We then came back and explored the nuts 🔩 and bolts 🔩 with the tools ⚒️, played with the trolley 🛒 and pushchair whilst loading them both with dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 and taking them around the room. We have had a brilliant morning! Firstly, we played with the puzzles 🧩 and Noah’s Ark shape sorter then we headed off for the school run! Afterwards we went on a new adventure to Toddler Group! It was fabulous to be around so many other children with such a vast amount to do! We had sensory play 🙌, we had cars 🚗, we had the dolls house 🏡, we had the play kitchen 🍱, large coupe cars 🚙, pushchairs and push along toys! We had so much fun and couldn’t believe where the morning went, before long it was tidy up time and then we did some singing 🎶 🎤! We can’t wait to go again! Wednesday 22nd February 2023 Snack: Apple Biscotti 🍎 with Banana 🍌 & followed by water 💦 Lunch: Roast Chicken Casserole 🥘 with Yorkshire Pudding followed by Fruit Yoghurt along with water 💦 Tea: Vegetable Soup 🥣 with Buttered Bread 🍞 followed by Fromage Frais along with water 💦 Wow, where did that morning go? These weeks are zooming past! 💨 We started the morning off with loading the animals onto the train, calling the animals sounds and counting “1,2,3 choo choo away we go! “ 🚂 🦛 🐅 We then looked at colour matching with the cars 🚙 and tunnels! We had a drizzly walk through the woods 🌳 but it didn't stop us looking 👀 for sticks, stomping in mud , and throwing the leaves 🍂! We then came back and had a warm up dance 💃 a session with Tumble Tots, this included practising our animals sounds 🐮 🦁 and numbers! We've also played in the sand with the dinosaurs 🦖🦕 , as we stomped and roared away!
