THE KITCHEN. This was probably one of the worst rooms in the house. To try make it look a little better to be able to live in I painted it white and grey and had grey Lino fitted. It was pretty plain and I have most definatley got out of the grey obsession faze 😂 so recently when with the navy blue kitchen, wallpapered in brick theme and had marble affect tiles laid. Eventually would like an extension on the kitchen and complete new kitchen so don’t want to spend too much on it for now. My favourite things about this dresser are the retro fablon used to cover the shelves 🌼💚and the doors slide on little ball bearings so the squish alone making a great little noise . This piece could be painted but the wood has some really nice wear on the top which literally takes years & years to get . Some good news!! New kitchen pending ✨ I don’t know what it is about military housing and their kitchens the lay out is always questionable and our luck of new kitchens ran out on this house. The kitchen is “original” to the house but I find it hard to believe anyone chose 3 different work tops and mismatched doors but I won’t dispute they are supeeeeeer old. When we moved into the house we were promised that a new kitchen was to be completed a few months after we move in. 2 years I’ve been non stop chasing with every excuse under the sun fired back at me but this week I spotted that I could go and speak to someone face to face who’s visiting the estate. Off I trot on my lunch break and secure an immediate visit and it only took one glance for everyone to agree the kitchen needs to be sorted… and yesterday we got the call to say Howdens will be in touch to start planning 🥳 I’m under no illusion that this will be quickly done but it’s hope at the end of the tunnel 😅 I really did try to make this kitchen less of an embarrassment & THANK GOD for Fablon 🙌🏽 But I cannot wait! #militaryquarters #rafwife #militarywife #fablon #kitchen #renovations #home #homeaccount

Really pleased to be able to show this original, complete 'Cornish Kitchen Ware' boxed Spice Jar set, one of seven boxed gift sets from the late 1960s. Found in a kitchen cupboard by James in Lacock, Wiltshire. The box had been unused and all the spice labels were intact on the original sheet, I think you'll agree there are some very interesting herbs/spices in that list evoking the early 1970s. The jars are from the Judith Onions period, the lids in Beech and the labels printed on Fablon. The box designed by John Philips. What a little bargain this was! It's amazing what you can do with a little fablon...10 mins project and literally changed my whole dining room...its huge too!
