Day 3 of Connection to Country: A New Dawn in Marree & A Visit to Marree Mosque 🌅🕌 It's day 3 of our "Connection to Country" journey, and we started our day in the most beautiful and spiritual way possible. As the first light of dawn painted the sky, we gathered together to pray Fajr Salah, surrounded by the serene vastness of this ancient land. 🕌🌅 After our prayers, we huddled around a crackling fire, sharing stories, laughter, and the warmth of our shared experience as we watched the sun rise over the horizon. This simple, peaceful moment reminded us of the timeless connection between our faith, our community, and the land we are learning so much about. Later in the day, we had the privilege to visit and explore the Marree Mosque compound - the oldest mosque in Australia. As we walked around this historic site, the stories of the Afghan cameleers and early Muslim settlers came to life. Their resilience, faith, and contributions to Australian history resonated in every corner of this humble mosque. Those who offer Fajr and Maghrib prayer will not enter into Hell. The thing to consider in this regard is that one does not get expiated from Hell by offering a single Fajr and Maghrib prayer, rather one needs to do it with consistency. There is hadith related to this: “Whoever performs the Prayer before the rising of the sun and the Prayer before its setting will not enter Hell.”(Muslim) Muslims who pray dawn prayer will be admitted to Paradise. If the adhaan for Fajr is given and a person has not yet prayed witr, he should delay it until the forenoon, after the sun has risen high, then he should pray whatever he can, two or four rak’ahs or more, two by two. If his habit is to pray three and he did not pray them at night, he should pray them in the forenoon with four rak’ahs and two tasleems. If his habit is to pray five and he was not able to do them at night because he was sick or he was asleep and so on, he should pray them in the forenoon with six rak’ahs and three tasleems, and so on, because the Prophet (ﷺ) used to do that. He used to pray witr with eleven rak’ahs, but if sickness or sleep kept him from doing that, he would pray them during the day with twelve rak’ahs. This is what ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said according to the report narrated from her by the two shaykhs al-Bukhaari and Muslim, and this is what is prescribed for the ummah, following the example of the Prophet (ﷺ). Prophet Muhammad (salallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned the seriousness of the Prayer in numerous hadeeths. He (salallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) stated: 1). الْعَهْدُ الَّذِي بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمُ الصَّلاَةُ فَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ “The covenant between us and them (the disbelievers) is the Prayer (as-Salāh), so whoever abandons it has disbelieved.” (At-Tirmidhi, no. 2621) 2). بَيْنَ الرَّجُلِ وَبَيْنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالْكُفْرِ تَرْكُ الصَّلاَةِ “Between a man and [him falling into] polytheism and unbelief is the abandonment of Prayer.” (Sahih Muslim, no. 82) 3).
