Mike Busse aka @garlicmikes will be at The White Barn on the first two Saturdays of the Fall Show! We sell Bella Cucina and Mike is going to use it in some recipes to sample. Chef Garlic Mike, also known as Michael Busse, is the founder and owner of Garlic Mike's restaurant and Personal Chef Services in Gunnison, Colorado. With a passion for cooking that began at a young age, Mike honed his culinary skills by preparing meals for his large family household. After training in French cuisine at the Academy of Culinary Arts, he decided to follow his Italian family roots. After working for various catering companies in south Jersey, Mike landed a prestigious job as an executive at L.C.'s Woodhouse in Allendale, NJ. During his time there, he had the opportunity to serve notable figures such as Mary Higgins Clark, former President Richard Nixon, and professional sports coaches and athletes. In 2000, Mike and his wife, Traci, relocated to Gunnison, Colorado, where they opened Garlic Mike's-Italian Cuisine. Located on the Gunnison River, the restaurant quickly became a favorite among locals, travelers, and second homeowners, many of whom hail from Texas. While Traci manages the behind-the-scenes operations and financials, Mike oversees the culinary aspects of the restaurant and his busy personal chef services. Mike was also featured on the Travel channels “Food Paradise”. He is also the winner of the coveted Crested Butte’s Center for the Arts, Chefs on the Edge competition and his restaurant was repeatedly voted Best Restaurant, Best Chef of the Gunnison Valley. Mike believes that food should be a source of joy and a way to bring people together. His love and passion for cooking are evident in every dish he creates, which serves as the centerpiece for memorable meals filled with good wine and conversation. As Mike makes his first visit to Round Top, he hopes to continue the tradition of sharing his culinary expertise and creating unforgettable dining experiences. Joining Mike on his culinary journey is his trusted assistant, Jesus Zafiro. Jesus is a trained sommelier, maître d', and server coordinator, and Mike is proud to have him as his right-hand man.
