It’s done! @modiphius .. the biggest project so far!! Tons of space for loot, enemies, exploration and a story in every corner! I am so excited to put this on the table and play! Also, to take some cinematic photos/videos with some newly painted miniatures (coming up! Haha) this project took me over 90 hours I think with all that whittling of popsicle sticks 😂in the end it was worth it though, and I couldn’t be more proud of it! NEW VEGAS POSEIDON GAS STATION by HICAP360 on Cults3d. Designed for resin, but printed in fdm, because I wanted to. The model is inexpensive ($1.58), but has a few problems. The undersides of the buildings aren’t perfectly flat, so they don’t sit on the build plate. Dropping them slightly into the plate solves that problem. Supports are needed on both buildings, tree recommended for the main building, normal supports everywhere for the garage (the doorway is too wide to bridge). The roof sections by default sit at an angle, but are easy to drop flat. The garage roof needs no additional work, but the main roof has a few bumps that prevent it from sitting flat (drop slightly into plate). The sign is the biggest problem for fdm (and might be a challenge for resin). I printed it standing upright with normal supports touching build plate. Support removal is tricky, the little hanging ‘gas’ sign is attached with very thin structures. This is accurate to the video game, but a problem for printing. (I did break it off removing supports, but was able to glue it back.) The neon letters on the sign are also difficult, since they float just in front of the sign, only attached at the ends (like real neon tubes). I’m amazed they printed at all in fdm and yes, the neon is supposed to be broken. Overall I’m impressed with how nice it turned out, and for the price I have no complaints. NOT COMPLAINTS BUT WISH LIST: I would have liked a floor inside the main building, alignment pegs for the roofs, and thicker structure and neon on the sign.
