@callesredesigns created this jewelry box transformation and gave it a whole new look with Paint Couture! Calle started with two coats of Kale Sprout Acrylic Mineral Paint. Then she created a beautiful layered look using a stencil and our Diamond Crystal Paste. She added floral mouldings using our New 2 Part Rapid Casting Resin and painted it in Pacific Pearl Chalk Style Paint and Stardust Heavy Metal Metallic Paint. The sides of the drawers were painted in our Sophia Acrylic Mineral Paint and floral transfers were the perfect added detail to really bring the transformation to life. I goofed when I started applying the image transfer. I had it all laid out to apply horizontally along the drawers, and accidentally put the first transfer on vertically. 🤦♀️ It was a major head slap moment. But, there's no going back, so vertical it was applied. In order to round out the design, I had to find another transfer design that was similar enough to compliment the center transfer (because, of course I only had one of these guys...Wondrous Floral II if you are wondering). Finished off with a lot of hand-painting, it looks cohesive and most people would be none the wiser to discover I used two entirely different transfer designs to bring this together.
It's hard to know how good the wood underneath several coats of poly and stain is going to turn out. Fortunately, this piece had so much of the raw wood exposed from years of neglect, it was a sure fire win to take off the stain. It's beautiful wood. I left it all natural with nothing more than a coat of clear wax to add a lustrous shine and protective finish.
I spent the last few days in my creative happy place working on this French Provincial dresser. This beauty was a cast-off family heirloom...too important to just take to a thrift store and too damaged to keep. Lucky me, it was donated so I could exercise the full measure of creativity! She came out alright, if I do say so myself!

This past Sunday, I had a design transfer workshop! When it comes to design transfers, I encourage participants to incorporate decorative elements within their transfer technique rather than just sticking the transfers on a simple, painted surface. For example, create a paint design, much like this dresser with the striped finish. Or, add decoupage or stenciling to vary the artistic design. The objective is to make your piece look less like you slapped a sticker on it and more like a mixed media piece of functional art!

Hello everyone I would love to share we you this delightful little wooden calved table iv designed as my project as part of the @paintcouturepaint creative team!!! After thorough prep work I started with our bonding and blocking primer then a blended base of peony and eggplant a sure colour surface ready to showcase my lux metallics of choice…. (are as follows) Lavender Lilac Royal silk Purple moon Amazon I blended my lux in certain spots to ensure as much depth, dimension and sparkle I could maximise on the piece .To finish I used the fabulous glaze that is platinum, what a stunning premium expensive finish it give it just sat inside all the carved details with class to give me that beautiful finish , I added some small floral transfer detail and sealed them with semi gloss top coat but on the transfer work only, I felt with the platinum glaze this piece was protected enough and the finish was already perfect!!!
