This smaller model of the Triplex lamp was designed to be suitable for spaces where the ordinary-sized Triplex was too large. Very large Swedish "dug out barrel" from around 1890. This barrel is absolutely massive in its thickness and overall size. The texture and patina that has accumulated over time makes it go from brown to red and gray. There is nothing we don't absolutely love about this piece. The wood has been contracted together and is now a little bit smaller than its original size, but it is still made from an amazingly large pine tree. New bottom and braces on the inside for support. Just came across the wonderful little pamphlet ‘God Belysning - Gott Arbete’ (Great Lighting - Great Work), published in 1929 by the Swedish Association of Lighting Culture. First of all, it’s a great example of Art Deco graphic design. Just take a look at the cover illustration with a housewife making an omelette under the bright light of a “modern” pendant lamp. Peter Adams Art Continuing to celebrate this inspiring work by @peteradamsart! 😍 A little back story on this piece: ⬇️ Creemore Springs had previously commissioned a painting from Peter Adams for the restaurant Batch in Toronto, but unfortunately due to Covid, it closed. They rescued the painting but had no place to hang it, so Peter took the opportunity to revisit the painting and rework it! 👀 His studio wasn’t big enough however so we were happy to offer the front of our gallery for the last few months. Now it is finished and hanging for all to see! Den lilla. Altarljusstaken nr 2625 lanserades tre år efter sitt storasyskon golvljusstaken, dvs år 1939. Den är inte lika hög förstås men trots det en stadig bit. Bilderna visar också exempel på en väl utförd ytbehandling av mässingen. Så kallad antikbehandling. Piggen är borta. Någon har gängat av den och glömt var den tog vägen. Inte ovanligt. Exemplaret hade nog också en maka en gång i tiden. Den är svårare att slarva bort. Med tanke på att den är solo och piggen är borta har den nog tagit omvägen via ett privat hem till auktionen.
