Can Ferrereta, a Hotel located in Santanyí, Mallorca, epitomizes an exceptional experience for guests seeking to embrace the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle. Mucho designed their brand identity, print materials, and typefaces. This typography, crafted in-house, draws inspiration from: A Traditional village signage, with a vernacular stencil typographic style. Our aim was to infuse the hotel with a distinct personality through this typography, with it’s traditional origin. ☀️ L’été n’est plus très loin alors je fais un petit retour sur Paris Plages ! 🕶️ Tous les ans, Paris plages a lieu sur les Rives de Seine et au bord du bassin de la Villette. Cet évènement invite l’été dans la ville et permet de rendre accessible la plage, la baignade et pleins d’activités pour les habitants. La Ville de Paris met en avant, à travers ses campagnes de communication, des illustrateurs pour la plupart français. Le défi est de créer une identité visuelle pérenne qui vient mettre en avant ces visuels. Création d’un bloc marque et de la direction artistique qui vient englober l’événement, du print (affiches, signalétiques, plans etc) au digital (univers du site, adaptation réseaux sociaux etc.). ☀️ Summer's not far off, so I'm taking a look back at Paris Plages! 🕶️ Every year, Paris plages takes place along the Seine and the Bassin de la Villette. This event brings summer to the city and makes the beach, swimming and a host of activities accessible to local residents. The City of Paris uses mostly French illustrators in its communication campaigns. The challenge was to create a visual identity that would highlight these visuals. We received an invitation from Paula Scher to organize the AGI Congress @agigraphic 2010 in Porto, a task that also involved launching the inaugural AGI OPEN—a name conceived during a meeting with Paula in Istanbul. Additionally, we undertook the design of the Graphic Identity. Our creative approach drew inspiration from the city itself, incorporating graphics inspired by Porto's distinctive tiles—a decorative element synonymous with the character of Porto and Portugal. These tiles were arranged in various configurations, forming diverse patterns that highlighted the allure of imperfections. The resulting Graphic Identity showcases the use of tiles as modules within a system, with elements strategically employed and manipulated across different scales, contributing to a myriad of visual effects. The tile “Speaker” faces were generated using an application developed by Fernando Penousal Machado. We extend our deep gratitude for the support received from individuals and institutions.
From 2012 Hotel Minho Graphic Identity and Signage Located in Vila Nova de Cerveira, in the north of Portugal, Hotel Minho @hotelminho decided to renovate its facilities, partnering with Virgula i Architects @virgulai for the project, and revamp its entire graphic identity. R2 was tasked with creating the new design concept, aiming to reflect the contemporary nature of the building while capturing the essence of the region. We were commissioned to design a signage system that would seamlessly integrate with the architectural project, complementing the color palette and materials. Our objective was to establish a harmonious relationship between different elements, ensuring consistent aesthetics and quality throughout the system. The stag, a symbol representing Vila Nova de Cerveira, was chosen as the foundational element of the identity and featured in various positions. The pictograms were designed based on Capibara (typeface designed by Pieter van Rosmalen, Bold Monday in 2008) and drew inspiration from the letters of Theo van Doesburg. photos @ngphoto.com.pt
