Here are some gypsophila bouquets I created for bridesmaids and flower girls last weekend. I purchased 20 bunches of gypsophila in total( each bunch contains 3-4 stems) and I divided them so that the largest bouquets contained 6 bunches and the smallest 4. I lay the stems out and removed any of the small lower down stems. I then simply held a stem in my left hand and picked up the second using my right- and placed it over the first stem ( pointing to the left so that the stems were crossed) . I gave it a little turn before adding another. I continued this process adding a stem and turning, adding a stem and turning until I had used up all the straight stems. I then added in- using the same technique , the smaller pieces that I’d cut off- saving any pieces that were too short for my buttonholes. I first put an elastic band around the bouquet to hold it while I made any adjustments- lifting any stems that had fallen down slightly or removing any straggly bits. I then wound tape around the top of my bouquet ensuring I’d got all the stems securely held in place before finishing with a ribbon and then cutting the stems to the correct length. These were then placed in vases of water until ready to use- ensuring that the ribbon didn’t get wet. These bouquets can then be preserved by placing in a vase of 2 parts like warm water and 2 parts glycerine. I tried doing this and left the gypsophila in the liquid for just over a week until the stems turned yellowish. Gypsophila ( or baby’s breath) symbolises innocence and eternal love- making it the perfect flower for a wedding. #gypsophila #gypsophiliabouquet. #bridesmaidbouquet. #flowergirlbouquet. #weddingflowers

10 years of marriage! It’s taken until this time in the day to type something as how do you put 10 years of ‘us’ into one social media post?! So grateful (!) and words cannot really fully express the emotions I’ve felt as I’ve reflected on the life we’ve made together ❤️ There’s been a lot of growth in that time, a lot of pain caused, forgiveness needed, healing, change, compromise. We’ve learnt to communicate better, put each other first more and discover how each of us receives love best. I loved the man I married, but gosh I never knew how intense the love I’d feel for him would be with each year that passes. We’ve had real rock bottom marriage moments where there seemed little way back. We’ve pushed each other into God and become stronger. We’ve laughed a huge amount, cried with happiness whilst welcoming three beautiful babies into the world and held each other tight as we’ve grieved for those that we didn’t get to hold and loved ones we’ve had to say goodbye to. We very frustratingly continue to mess up and make mistakes, but we’ll gladly continue working on doing that less and loving each other more intentionally for the next 10 years - and beyond. There is no one I’d rather be irritated by, learn to love better and do team work with than you Ben. I love you. *6 years ago today I went into labour with our Lila. What an anniversary gift! Little did we know it would take 27.5 hours and an emergency c-section for her to arrive safely in our arms.
