📚 Manca meno di un mese al @salonelibro di Torino e fatico a crederci, ma è così: sarò presente in una modalità diversa dal solito. Haiku # 350 This Haiku is a full collaboration with my sister friend @bekala24 Idea, verbiage, and final approval of image. She was with me all the way. Becky asked that I write a Haiku on the 'empty nest syndrome.' As someone who, by choice, is not was not a mother, I never experienced that. So, I asked Becky for her take on it, and what she wrote was so deeply profound. I shared it below, with her permission. The only empty nest I felt was when my cat of 17 years, Sophia, passed. 100% a different experience. Here's what Becky shared with me about her experience with it: Empty nester means the completion of a profound journey that took everything yet gave even more. It means shedding a lifetime of total commitment and love to grow other humans, to show up when you had nothing left yet had to because there was everything to lose. It means losing the loves of your life, your identity, your purpose, your reasons to live. And it’s about pride and resilience and winning. The launching of my bright, beautiful, loving, kind, insightful, compassionate girls is my legacy. And now it becomes my turn again. It is my turn to continue on my journey.
