📕 Heliomaster furcifer. 🇬🇧 Blue-tufted Starthroat. 🇧🇷 Bico-reto-azul. 🇵🇾 Picaflor de Barbijo. Mainumby Jetapa (En Guaraní). 📍 Luque-Paraguay. ***** Sin duda, una de las especies que más tiempo me llevó tomarle buenas fotografía (2 años, mínimo). Ya que el macho sólo posee el plumaje nupcial y llamativo, en temporada de reproducción. Luego cambia a un plumaje menos llamativo (Plumaje de reposo) y parecido al de la hembra. Los ejemplares macho, en total, pasan por dos mudas del plumaje por año. Ésta especie tiene uno de los colores iridiscente más llamativos y sólo los ejemplares machos la poseen. Las primeras tres fotografías son las más recientes (Septiembre) y se trata de un macho adulto. Las fotografías 4 y 5, son de fines de noviembre del año pasado dónde el ejemplar prácticamente tenía casi todo el plumaje reproductivo/nupcial. En la fotografía 6, se puede observar a un ejemplar adulto con el plumaje de reposo (2019). Y en las últimas 3 fotografías, se puede apreciar a ejemplares hembras; siendo la 7 fotografía de septiembre de éste año y las otras dos, del año pasado. *Alimentación: Pequeños insectos y flores/néctar. *Distribución: Por casi todo el territorio nacional. Se las puede encontrar en los patios y jardines. *Plumaje nupcial: Desde finales de septiembre, hasta finales de diciembre/enero. Nombre científico: Proviene del griego 'hëlios', que significa Sol; y mastër, que significa, buscador; y su epíteto , del latín 'furcifer, furcifera', que sería, 'uno que lleva tijeras'; y '-pteros', que sería, ala.
