My Totoro and Susuwatari pillows done! 🩶🖤 These were created with the chunkiest yarn I’ve ever held. 🧶 My hooks were not big enough so I had to get a 20mm one. The yarn is so soft and squishy. I love that you can see progress quickly because it works up so fast. The only downside is that it can break. So don’t pull too tight. Giant projects need giant crochet hooks! I had to sit my little dragon on this blanket to give an idea of scale! I used a 20mm hook for this blanket and it measures 115cm x 175cm. I used 10 balls of yarn and had about 1 metre left! I love how quickly this yarn turned into a blanket. It worked up so quickly and is perfect to make a big blanket with. Happy Monday Friends! It’s ginormous amigurumi reveal time! A giant turnip made using #hobbiiblanketyarn by @hobbii_yarn! This is by far the biggest amigurumi project I’ve made and it was a really fun experience to create with this yarn size. This veggie pal was made using a 20mm hook, yarn in the colours Boysenberry, Eucalyptus and White and a lot of polyfil stuffing. I found I was even able to weave in my ends with my hands after initially struggling to find a needle that would work. Blanket Yarn is a polyester chenille yarn that is so soft and squishy. Projects work up quickly and it’s great for a wide range of skill levels and crafts. I would use blanket yarn again for sure. My mind is swirling with so many ideas of other super size amigurumi to make. You all know I created the mini hamburger pattern for @maratona_handmade . When I saw the new Blanket yarn from Hobbii I knew that I had to make a big version of my hamburger with it! First of all, I wanted a pillow to decorate my couch. Secondly, you can see how BIG your project can be when using this yarn. Blanket is a 100% polyester yarn and it DOES NOT split that easily, which is something AMAZING when we talk about polyester fiber. If you like small amigurumi, just like me, it can be a bit challenging to hold the yarn and the big crochet hook, but it is worth trying! I am so excited about this 🥰 @hobbii_yarn sent me some of their #hobbiiblanketyarn (link in the spot links to) to test out and I’ve got to be honest, as someone who doesn’t like jumbo yarn, this is probably some of the best I’ve used. I was able to pull pretty hard before the yarn would break off (it does break like all the other ones, but it takes some pull for sure) the amount of fuzz when you cut the yarn is minimal, and the texture is a good squishy plush, perfect for what I have in mind. 2024 has a lot of surprises for this small business of mine.
