✨ A fun laundry room Glow Up: added new countertops and backsplash tiles extending up to the newly painted Amsterdam blue accent ceiling featuring dual chandeliers with brass details that coordinate with the new brass hardware and faucet. The top down woven shade by @wendygravesdecor and the @chilewich rug added the wonderful touches of texture. Lastly, incredible organization of the cabinet interiors by the amazing @morethanneat and my favorite detail is the custom framed art pieces with laundry tips and what all of those symbols mean!
The accents in this Guest Room are a calm painting, an extra blanket and a stool to sit upon if needed. Simple basic elements can be so welcoming to your guests. 💁♂️
🛌 A guest room in my opinion should have as much elegance as the rest of the home while focusing on being inviting and comfortable. The blackout lining for the curtains ensures a restful night in a home away from home. 😴
🥂 Dining in decadence feels like a great way to finish off the year! These clients will often host intimate dinner parties with friends where they invite a chef into their home to prepare an amazing dinner, allowing them to focus on their company. Having the music room opposite the dining allows for acoustical accompaniment while they dine and makes it even more special then going out. The elegant simplicity of the design of these two spaces was intentional, allowing the focus to be the people, the food, and the music. 🎶
🛀I love a free standing tub and when in its own alcove it has even more presence. I darkened the walls with a beautiful paint from @farrowandball (Plummett No. 272) which really made the windows pop. This also features another detail I enjoy implementing in bathrooms which is a large tufted velvet bench to rest upon once done showering or getting out of the tub.
If you ever craved counter space in your Primary Bathroom, this would fit the bill! To appropriately match the scale, we used 3x5 indoor/outdoor rugs for bathmats in front of each sink. I found these beautiful white washed oak oversized mirrors which I felt really elevated the space and the art piece is a list of the iconic streets of San Francisco where the clients had previously lived. 🌉
This Primary Suite was done in a very calm and cozy aesthetic. We were able to achieve this through the use of textiles that included linen, velvet, and fine cottons along with this ultra soft area rug from @feizyrugs As always, I feel a touch of elegance and opulence is key to a successful design and to achieve this we installed a hand blown Murano glass chandelier above the bed and did the ceiling in an incredible @romo_fabrics wallpaper made of crushed mica crystals that allows reflections of light to dance across the ceiling.✨ The @reginaandrewdetroit designed concrete bedside lamps added that subtle modern touch that I love to add to any traditional space.

✈️ This family room has a subtle "Travel/Aviation" theme to it, featuring custom art pieces of their favorite destinations, a large world map, a metal corner table with rivets and featuring a pair of @knoll handmade Barcelona chairs which are popular in exclusive airport lounges. I custom designed this modern coffee table set which I did in contrasting finishes of smooth matte concrete and polished macassar ebony. The wool rug is incredibly thick and weighs a ridiculous amount but makes a luxurious statement and really softens the space. We also did a large live edge wood shelf along the wall for the display of art books and the two cabinet pieces in this room are made of embossed crocodile and stingray leathers reminiscent of exquisite pieces of luggage. 🧳 @aviationgin @vancityreynolds
This home office has a lot of details I really love including great textures. The @hermanmiller Eames lounge chair and grasscloth wallpaper that is prevalent in my design work both make an appearance but the star of the show is the @inhabitliving panels that we painted and mounted to the ceiling. The form reminded me of an App which was a subtle nod to the client's role in founding Instagram. I really am proud of a space when there are so many textures, colors, and materials all going on at once yet the space remains calm and focused.

Do you wanna know one of the oldest design tricks in the book? Well, here it is: CREATE BALANCE The easiest way to do that is to rely on symmetry. This allows you to get it right almost every time! However, sometimes it makes things feel too perfect. One of the ways I like to stretch myself when it comes to designing and styling a space is to create that balance with asymmetry. It’s actually really difficult to get it right, but with a trained eye it can be done — and you can always tell if it’s not done right. This bedroom, for example, from the @aaNovo design and build team is the perfect visual of this. (Swipe it done in the whole room!) I took what was there and edited it in such a way to provide that perfect balance and give the space a lived in feel. You would never believe the planning and all the hands that were involved in making even this one simple shot look perfect! But, these detailed shots were worth all the effort! What nobody will tell you is that there’s a LOT of work that goes on behind the scenes to get the pretty pictures you see all over the Internet. (You heard it here first!)
