Smooth Fun Fact #1091: (Cats Week) Due to her chronic kidney disease, Gretchen, Smooth’s striking, hirsute tigress, needed subcutaneous fluid therapy multiple times a day for the last six months of her life. (Bonus Fun Fact: Since she could no longer conserve water nor filter toxins from her blood, Wife Smooth had to lift the skin above Gretchen’s shoulder blades, insert a needle, run IV fluid through a tube, and gently squeeze an elevated drip bag for 10 minutes. Extra Bonus Fun Fact: Since he is a squeamish chicken, Smooth’s sole purpose was to snuggle Gretchen tightly to his chest and keep her calm during the process.) #cat #maincoon #oldcat #sickcat #catdad #homevet #subcutaneousfluids #kidneydisease #ivpiccline #youtubevideoshelp #badnurse #prettyuseless #mywifedidallthehardstuff #snuggler #snugglecat #favorite #donttelltheothers #ripgretchen

My nightly routine. #daptomycin and then #cefepime #ivpiccline until April 14th. Every 8 hours I push an antibiotic through to kill the septic arthritis I have in my hip, it’s been all consuming and slows my panting down tremendously. #mrsasurvivor #mrsa is no joke. #sepsis #sepsissurvivor #sepsisawareness I was taken off of the antibiotics in February only to be rehospitalized four days later with fever and more pain. I walk about half the day unassisted by my cane, but still need it when I start hurting. I can’t believe I have had this now for three months. I wish I had something more fun to share, but this is my current reality,

Thanks to modern medicine and the lord on this holiest of weeks;... The IV picc line, which you see on my left bicep, allows me the freedom to go to the store to get things like probiotics & provolone cheese! Every 8 hours I inject myself w/ antibiotics, saline and heparin via the picc line to eradicate this infection once and 4 all! Day 5, here we go! I am confident, faithful and strong in all aspects.”. The Rosary I adorn was given to me by the great Trappist Monks of Assumption Abbey in Ava Mo circa 1996 during a retreat. It’s indicative of where my mentality lies during this lenten season and Holy Week. I’m going to the store now for some essential oils, Neroli and Cedarwood, for home aromatherapy and food! #thankful #holyweek #rosary #ivpiccline #modernmedicine #antibiotics #earinfection #christianity #love #life #grateful

I like to remember things like this on bad days. Like “at least I don’t have an IV in my arm anymore!” . . 1 week left of treatment. Can’t wait to be done soon! #ivpiccline #ballandchain #azmarinastrong #watchmerise #runnertosurvivor 💉🙏🏼❤️💪🏼

Who's hunger with me? Itching to workout. In great mood. Got my blood work back. All the eggs and bacon every morning and my cholesterol is 146. My good cholesterol LDL l is really low and bad cholesterol HDL high because I haven't been to train on a regular basis due to my surgery and infection. Training makes your body have an anabolic response. Low cholesterol is also a sign of performance enhancing drugs free 😉

Almost two weeks post knee surgery and infection. Don't look so bad besides having over a gallon of antibiotics pumped into me every day. No one knows what kind of infection I had that attacked my knee joint. They are currently growing cultures of the biopsy they did so they can narrow down what bacteria it is. In the meantime I'm on the two strongest and most toxic antibiotic for my body. Vancomycin is one of them. If I don't fight off this infection it will destroy my left knee. I almost lost it almost two weeks ago hence the emergency knee surgery. I have to be on an iv machine for 4-6 more weeks every day. I'm a survivor. This hasn't gotten my number yet. One of my gym clients call me "Nickel", her Asian 50 cent. I'm indestructible!!! I've literally have had every single body part & joint broken or had surgery on. 👊💪
