Been editing audio quite a bit lately. From fully recorded sound journeys to vocal tracks, #izotoperx can handle those fine tuning scenarios and does it quickly, effortlessly, and effectively. 🙌
Por conta da falta de uma diferenciação maior nos termos e nomes, muita gente que edita algum tipo de diálogo acha que edita como é preciso editar em filmes e séries originais, mas a verdade é que a edição de diálogos de filmes e séries originais é única e mais complexa, se comparada com a edição de diálogos para publicidade, dublagem, podcast, audiolivros, games e tudo mais. Pra começar, o diálogo dos filmes e séries são captados de formas diferentes, com múltiplos microfones em diferentes lugares e personagens, gerando problemas de fase, sonoridade e de sincronização específicos. Além disso, as locações e diárias de gravação fazem com que a captação seja sempre diferente, com ruídos de fundo diferentes, movimentação diferente, vento diferente, performances diferentes e imprevistos diferentes. Raramente os diálogos são gravados em estúdio, com apenas o áudio como prioridade. E pra completar, os atores estão sempre se movendo de formas muitas vezes imprevisíveis para quem grava o áudio, agravando tudo o que já falei. Isso tudo torna a edição de diálogos (edição de som direto) de filmes e séries originais a edição de diálogos mais complexa que existe. Sem sombra de dúvidas! Além dessas diferenças técnicas, existem diferenças artísticas e de linguagem que também precisam ser observadas. Entre elas estão o senso de continuidade, a fluidez da edição, o processamento e a sonoridade final. Em filmes e séries existem âncoras que puxam a edição de diálogo e a tornam mais complexas, como a diegése e o realismo. Enfim, no geral, a edição de diálogos para filmes e séries é o degrau mais alto na hierarquia da edição de diálogos. Давайте разберём различные методы устранения шума из плохо записанных звуковых дорожек. 1. Прежде всего, необходимо определить источник шума. Подобные плагины позволяют создать модель шума и изолировать его вручную, или при помощи встроенных пресетов. Другим известным плагином, который хорошо устраняет данную проблему, является iZotope RX. Также сейчас для устранения шума активно используются нейросети и появились новые плагины, использующие их алгоритмы. Например, Clarity VX от Waves, который стал пользоваться большой популярностью. One of the things I still utilize RX for is spectral editing. The highlighted areas are a sine wave ringing/tone that may be subtle, but once these things are pointed out you can't un-hear them. Removing or at least reducing these types of things is part of the dialogue editing phase. It could be the single difference between a few spliced together takes or just an annoying ringing throughout a scene. The way I deal with them is by using the Frequency Selector to select the ones I can definitely see and then using the Select harmonics tool the find the rest. Once selected I either use Particles + Noise or Attenuate. If you have another way of dealing with these types of issues, let us know down in the comments. This is some of the most polite mic distortion I’ve seen in the many sessions I’ve done. Turns out putting an actor in front of a U-87 inside a good room with a good signal chain makes post-production way easier. After spending weeks listening to stuff through this, I’d say the magic of a U-87 isn’t the sound. Practically every production uses it and it’s a very familiar sound. The magic is in its consistency and ease of use. Compared to a source connect session where it’s the wild west, the edit process is just way easier. It’s unrealistic to expect actors to also be recording engineers, but those source connect sessions do demand more care and attention getting them to be game ready. As an editor, my job is to make it all sound good. Whether it’s a USB mic or a U-87, it has to sound game ready. Yes we do full-service audiobook production from casting to mastering, and yes we do podcast production from simple uploading and metadata to full production at the highest level. But we also do basic audio repair work! This is a screen shot of de-noising interview audio for the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine. The depth of processing available in a spectral editor like @izotopeinc RX is difficult to overstate. And though there are limits to what’s possible with a difficult source recording, we’ve yet to be given a piece of audio that we couldn’t significantly improve in terms of speech intelligibility and reduction of distracting background noises. Gotta love @izotopeinc RX! ✨ Yesterday we recorded one of my old harmoniums for the @kinbomkessner theatre music project, and while I want to keep the ”charming” noises/squeaks/sighs of the 100-year-old pump organ, there was a clicking sound from one of its pedals that sounds distracting. With Spectral Repair in RX, it is gone without a trace, leaving the musical part of the sound fully intact.
