The 2004 Food City 500 at Bristol. Ryan Newman #12 started on pole. It was a typical Bristol race with 11 cautions 10 of them for accidents. A lot of drivers would be called to the NASCAR hauler after the race McMurray #42 for the contact with Kenseth #17 after the race Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8 for intentionally spinning so he didn't have to pit under green. Also Tony Stewart #20 and Scott Wimmer #22 for their issues during the race those two were also held on pit road for a lap. Jamie McMurray 2009 talladega win custom Jamie mcmurrays tenure at Roush was pretty strange. I’ll never understand how a genuine contender at CGR can go to a better team and perform worse, go back to the same team, and bring results again. Jamie collected two wins, both at plate tracks and was part of my favorite Roush line up from 2007-2009. Mcmurray pretty much had the field on hold until teammate Matt Kenseth got shuffled out of line, losing his help. He managed to hold on after two flips and a finish under caution. RK-665 The first time I see the chassis race, things were going pretty good. Jamie McMurray started 22nd but led 32 laps and won at Talladega in the fall of 2009 (slide 1-3). It would be McMurray’s final win with Roush. Despite the instant success, I don’t see the chassis racing in 2010. Next time it appears on records is being the backup car for David Ragan in Talladega, fall 2010. For 2011, the car was moved to the Xfinity Series shop to be driven by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. At Daytona, Stenhouse started 10th and overall had a solid day, finishing 8th (slide 4). Two months later in Talladega, Stenhouse started 14th but was taken out in a crash just past half way (slide 5-6). He’d finish 38th. Back at Daytona in July, Stenhouse started 12th and led 5 laps but fell back to 27th at the finish (slide 7-8). The chassis wouldn’t race in Daytona next February, but instead returned in Talladega. The car was fast that day, starting 2nd and finishing 3rd (slide 9-10). It was taken back to Daytona in July as a backup car, but after that day, I can’t find the car ever racing again. In its 5 confirmed starts, RK-665 got 1 win, 2 T5’s, 3 T10’s, led 44 laps, had an Avg Start of 12, an Avg Finish of 15.4, and raced over 1,563 miles. #NASCAR #NRNChassis #RoushFenwayRacing #JamieMcMurray #RickyStenhouseJr

Matt McCall started his career as many racers in the 2000s and made it as a Yates racing developmental driver in the mid 2000s. In the years since, he’s kept himself within the sport being an engineer for RCR from 2007-2014 before getting a break with Chip Ganassi Racing. He took Jamie McMurray to his first playoff appearance and three straight from 2015-17. He’s won three times with Kurt Busch and now is one of the many brains behind the quickly growing RFK Racing as the crew chief of Brad Keselowski! CGR-1104 The chassis debuted with the 2011 All Star Race, where Jamie McMurray started 9th with it (tied for best start) and finished 17th (slide 1). The team decided to clean the car up and bring it back the following week for the Coke 600. Jamie led 5 laps with it (only known laps led for the car) before blowing a motor just 271 miles into the race (slide 2). A month later the car raced in Michigan, finishing 19th (slide 3). Fitted with a McDonalds paint job and pink numbers, McMurray drove it to a 15th place finish in Dover (slide 4). In Texas a month later, McMurray ran in troubles during the race, finishing 36th many laps down (slide 5). For its 2012 debut, 1104 returned to Texas looking for a better result. McMurray and the chassis started 9th and finishing a solid 14th that day (slide 6). Next on the list for the car was another Dover race, where it finished 19th (slide 7). In August, the car went to Bristol for the first time, ending up 17th in the night race (slide 8). 1104 capped off the 2012 season in Homestead, taking the checkered in 20th in the final race of the COT body style. Unfortunately I don’t know if the car raced in 2013 with CGR, since the team stopped releasing their chassis selections after 2012. In its 9 confirmed races, CGR-1104 got an Avg Start of 19.6, an Avg Finish of 21.6, and raced over 3,330 miles. The 2004 Subway 400 at Rockingham. It is the final Cup race at this speedway. Ryan Newman #12 started on pole. A total of seven cautions would come out. Ken Schrader #49 and Jimmie Johnson #48 would make contact after the #49 would cut down at the last minute and the #48 would run in the back of #49, then hit the wall. Dale Jarrett #88 would blow an engine. Carl Long #46 would flip down the backstretch in after contact with the #01 and #77. Later the #31 of Robby Gordon would get up on the wall in the same spot but not flip over. Matt Kenseth #17 would lead 259 of the 393 laps. At the end of the race, the #9 of Kasey Kahne and #42 of Jamie McMurray would run down the #17. While Auburn hasn't been represented at the big race, the Tigers have been on multiple NASCAR teams over the years.⠀⁣ ⠀⁣ In 2013, @jamiecmcmurray sported the Auburn logo on the hood of his Cessna-sponsored #1 Chevy. Auburn is a client of Cessna, the world's leading general aviation company. McMurray would take home the victory in the October Talladega Superspeedway race - his first win since 2010. The race victory came a day after Auburn defeated Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel in College Station.⠀⁣ ⠀⁣ Following Auburn's 2010 national championship, Michael Waltrip and the Aaron's Dream Machine sported the Auburn orange and blue for the April Talladega race. Waltrip's team spent multiple years showcasing national champions on his car. The #15 Toyota would finish 28th after a rough day at the track.⠀⁣ ⠀⁣ In 2001, Elton Sawyer competed in the Busch Series. Starter Athletic sponsored the #98, and for 14 races, they promoted major universities located near the week's racetrack. Auburn was the first university in the promotion, taking a ride around Talladega Superspeedway. Sawyer would finish the race in 6th place. Georgia and Tennessee were the only other SEC schools involved with the promotion.⠀⁣ ⠀⁣ 2006 Auburn graduate Marc Mitchell raced a few seasons in NASCAR's Truck Series. Before he made it to that level, Mitchell spent a few seasons racing in the ASA series. Mitchell raced an orange and blue Auburn-logoed car in 2004 and 2005. #34 was used in honor of Bo Jackson, Mitchell's favorite athlete.⠀He raced a similar scheme in the ARCA series but sported the #3 on that car.⁣ ⠀⁣ Another Auburn graduate, @bretholmes2, has previously worn an Auburn football-inspired helmet while racing in the ARCA series. I think Jamie McMurray was slated to run the RFK Stage 60 program for more specifically the Daytona 500 instead of David Ragan. I think this because on the Dale Jr download Jamie was a guest and he brought up how a really good team offered him a Daytona 500 ride and didn’t accept it. I think David was the second option.
