I have such a little time to paint these days! And even less time to post. I feel bad about that; but it is what it is one person, doing the work of three around here. Unfortunately, the future at this moment is looking very gloomy for my poor, unfortunate husband. We are just taking it one day at a time. I can’t even write about this. It’s making me so sad. So I’ll tell you a little bit about this painting. I think it’s so adorable and I don’t even know where I pulled this from! I think I needed some fantasies to escape to. It really was a lot of fun to pursue this. A LOT of fun. somewhere down deep. I called it “Exciting Possibilities “. This is a 36 x 18 mixed media painting canvas. I thought I would post this one now because I think it looks great with the fish painting! i’ve actually painted some others, but they’re not along the same idea. So they will be coming along shortly. Let me know if there’s anything that interests you. Oh, you guys… it’s been a minute. In fact; I had to search around here to find how to post! Such a stressful 3 months! Never before had I been living under such conditions. Life and death. Here at home with my frail Mom that I can no longer really communicate with. And who needs help in her every waking moment. And my husband; suffering for many months with multiple things keeping him near death. He finally began to make some improvements several weeks ago as he began scute rehab(inpatient.) And fingers crossed; may get to come home at the end of the week. I’m so happy for him. Yet so scared. I’m scared of the nightmare returning. Thankful for the love and support of my immediate family, and the unconditional love from my dog. There was no art making for a long time. Until recently. When this piece happened from a paint-over. “Late For School” is a mixed media on canvas , 36 x 18. Super fun piece. Upbeat, cheerful painting. #modernart #interiordesign #mixedmediapainting #intuitivepainting #artlovers #decordailydose #artcurator #artinteriors #inlovewithcolor #thecreativesoul #emergingartists #creativity #abstractart #abstractpainting #jendacotaartist #tropicalfishpainting #flaming_abstracts #jendacotaartist

“Wild Blueberries ,” named for that delicious, very good-for-your- brain food that is a staple here at home for me! So much stress; I rely on good clean foods to help sustain me! As did this delightful painting! The first completed one of 2024! 48 x 45 Acrylic on heavy duty paper. #worksonpaper #artistentrepreneur #inspohome #artprocess #womenwhocreate #workingartist #expressiveart #contemporarypainting #abstractexpressionism #emergingartist #artforbteakfast #artstudio #newpainting #artaddict #expressyourself #jendacotaartist

Wow; I just noticed I haven’t posted in nearly a month! This colorful, happy painting was a revision of the painting posted just before this one! It took me awhile to stop spinning my wheels and find my way with this one; and had hoped to finish her up in ‘23, but due to a sudden downturn of my husband’s health, there absolutely is no focus on art. They are working on confirming the diagnosis at this time , of a rare Neuro muscular disorder. He is currently hospitalized and undergoing testing and treatment to ease his symptoms. I feel horrible for him that thus far; still no answers, and no relief yet. We fully expect at least one more week in the hospital to complete the treatments. Maybe we’ll have some test results back too. “The Circle Game. “ 48 x48 on paper.

I usually don’t post any work in progress; but the way things seem to be going here lately; one never knows how much time I’ll have in my studio. So yes; this is a painting I started to rework when I found it rolled up amongst others as I was cleaning up stored art that I hadn’t looked at in awhile. I actually found a few that I’d like to rework. This one’s a 48 x 48 on heavy duty mixed media paper. With little “me” time lately; my only expectations are to mix and find; and use amazing color combinations. Just have fun. Creativity and levity are my only agendas. Yayyy!

I’m so glad I don’t always paint the same type of paintings. I always do begin the same way, though. Abstract, experimental, playful. That’s always the best for me. Keeps my mind open to anything, and my hand loose. “When the Cat Looks Away the Mice will Play. “ 45 x 28 mixed media on heavy duty paper. And at times, the painting begins to form a story around the shapes, colors and composition. As in this case. I decided to follow the outline of the developing plot; and enjoy the ride. Though at times it was bumpy, and full of uncertainty. I’m proud of myself for sticking with it and seeing it through. The second pic shows how it might look with a Matt. DM me if you’d like more info.

You know; I can’t resist falling for fall. Everything about it; is crisp, colorful, beautiful, and a refreshing change from summer. These 2 works are so yummy. The first one is a Gelli print/collage painting, and it’s framed in a black one and a half inch deep wooden frame. The second one I had painted a little while back. This one is painted on wood, all done in acrylics. I framed them both the same , I thought they looked super fabulous together. They are both 12“ x 12“ (before the framing) The first one, semi abstract is “Change is Good. “ The second one is an abstract landscape, “Forever Fall. “

11/21/2023, 6:23:28 PM

This sequence of pics show how I ended up where I did. As my intention was to create a limited palette, mainly black and white; abstract. In the first pic, I noticed a face appeared in the upper left, complete with ‘60’s sunglasses and long hair. To me, it was a vision of Janis Joplin. So as astounded as I was; it only took a few marks with a sponge brush, keeping loose in the look that she already had… to complete her recognizable features. So I went with the flow on this one. I felt like I wasn’t so much the director; but the producer. I have to admit; it was fun listening to her music again as I continued working on the painting’s completion! Painted on unstretched canvas; it will fit 48 x 48 inch stretcher bars. “Homage to Janis Joplin: Half Moon, Nighttime Sky. “

11/14/2023, 2:04:44 PM

“Embrace The Joy “ Mixed media semi abstract painting on unstretched canvas. Will fit on70” x 46” Stretcher bars. Great size for over your couch or love seat. This one was definitely a challenge. Mainly because I could not call her done! I kept adding more elements. And more. One thing led to another; until there wasn’t a drop of space left! But I absolutely adore this piece! She has a homey, cozy, holiday vibe. It’s a big one; but super easy to ship in a tube. 😁 DM for inquiries.

Life gets hard sometimes. A lot of times. We need to pull it together and be strong even though we feel like falling apart. being in a long-term relationship, you learn to rely on the other person for support. When they fail, you support them. When you need something they help you. we just enjoyed a fabulous weekend of art, exhibitions, and the company of other artists. Meeting new art friends, all the while, knowing that early Monday morning, we would be in the hospital for Barry’s pacemaker and defibrillator replacement. As we arrived late due to morning rush hour traffic; they whisked him away from me without so much as a goodbye. Sitting there alone waiting to hear something for 3 hours was torture. I know he has a very weak heart. All kinds of thoughts begin to flood your mind after awhile. When I thought I could no longer contain myself; my thoughts, emotions; the memories of his several heart surgeries that were so long and complicated… The nurse came out to tell me he was done and I could go back to see him. He did very well! Thankfully the doctor and anesthesiologist were prepared to support his heart with a pacer lead while the unit was being replaced. Scar tissue was a factor to get through also for this 4 th procedure; I’m so grateful for the knowledge and expertise of all the professionals who worked on Barry yesterday, so we can all continue to love him and have him with us! 🙏❤️

Here’s the rest of the pics from #artability artist preview party. We were videotaped with impromptu interviews (Argh… I def was out of my comfort zone, being in the spotlight; but videographer Jodi is amazing; and SO professional!) I’m standing in front of my paintings that are included in the show. Final pic… Barry can’t help himself; explaining his process to interested passersby. 🤣 Anyone interested in having the link to view the show online can DM me for it and I can send it to you!

Art Ability opens officially tomorrow. Today was a great Artist preview party. I had a great time; the art was top notch; an enjoyable afternoon. Barry also had his glass fusion art there. This was his first show ever. We were both pleasantly surprised to receive recognition with ribbons hanging next to our work! More pics to follow. All art is for sale at one. I’m fortunate to have developed a “ busy” season for shows and exhibitions; from fall through end of January. The first of which opens this weekend! I have a brief Newsletter going out later today with all the deets. Please join me in my Newsletter! I can add your name if you’d like. Just DM me your email. Super simple. I’d love to see you there! The two of us running out yesterday morning; doing a couple of quick errands at the beautiful stores they have around here; for my birthday! It was a little bit like one of those game shows where you have a timer on you and a large bag. How much can you get into it that fits you; that you love; in the time allotted . Go!! Oh, yeah; and it has to fit into your budget. (Good luck!)

10/20/2023, 1:14:51 PM

I’ve been adding to my series ’ Finding Joy’. I find myself immensely involved in creating these pieces. Each new day is another adventure, as I work towards creating each painting in the group at different times; I keep in mind the core similarities that will tie them together as a series, yet they each completely stand alone as they are meant to be engaged with. This first pic is # 3, ‘Red Light Green Light,’ 36 x 36. # 2 is ‘Playground Antics,” 30 x 30. The one with the white border was the # 1; ‘ Color Play.’ 30 x 30. All acrylic/ mixed media with a cold wax finish.

10/14/2023, 1:08:27 PM

The underlying tone of my Newsletter/Email is really this. I don’t speak about it, really. I think it’s interesting that since I have an intuitive abstract art practice, the impression people may have is one of “ carefree abandon and lack of discipline; and or direction.” So you see… you can’t possibly learn more about what’s up with my art practice, where I’m headed, hear the thoughts and ideas behind why I make certain decisions. How I create custom finishes, new series releases; from social media. I happen to be extremely organized, and try to leave time in every day to work in the studio. There’s always something to do there. Always learning, and yes… working toward my goals. My next Newsletter is dropping this weekend. If you haven’t already; please join in on my “news and info” by simply clicking on the link in my bio in Profile. ⬆️⬆️⬆️ Hope to see you there! 😊

I had to share this most breathtaking experience as I was gathering some last bunches of herbs ( thyme, sage and curry) from my huge front flower box beneath the window. The view captured behind me in the window is the most humbling and amazing reminder to enjoy each moment of our day. To appreciate, take a deep breath in… and exhale.

10/4/2023, 1:22:16 PM

This is another creation from the studio ! A bit different… “Winter’s Icy Grip” 40 x 30 This piece was very interesting and involved. Building up layers of torn rice paper over the entire canvas to help the paint with creating more depth. I didn’t want the painting to appear flat. And then of course; the finishing product layers to highlight the sparkle of the “frost” I’m thrilled with the outcome, and achieving my desired results. ☺️ DM for further info.

10/1/2023, 3:51:40 PM

This is what goes on in my head… I just love creating these fantasy abstract botanical paintings! “Where the Wild Things Are” is a mixed media 42 by 42 on canvas piece. DM for more details. Available for purchase. 😄

This piece speaks volumes to me. Last year when I was immersed in this intense online art course; one of the things we did was to make an ‘Art board’ which is simply an example of your vision of what you’d like your art to look like. So I made some beautiful colors and quickly, intuitively, painted on paper one of the most delightful pieces I’ve ever made. Just for me. To inspire me. It hangs on my studio wall. And for the past year I keep thinking why haven’t I even once tried to paint like this? So “One Way or Another “ was created! 44” w x 38” H on canvas.

Big day! Dropping off 3 paintings for my next juried show! Coming up end of October. 10/28-1/28/24 It’s a nice long show (international) but not too far from home; so I can hand deliver; and don’t have to ship. 😊 Will keep you posted with show details as time gets nearer to the date!

Hey everyone! I’ve been busy away from the easel. I reworked my website to better reflect myself, simplify everything, and made it easier to navigate. I’m also putting the finishing touches on a newsletter; getting ready to go out very, very soon! So for those of you who are interested in art; curious about an artist’s process, want more; like first dibs on new works; simply go to the link ⬆️in my bio and please add your name to my email list! I’d 🧡to have you come and join! 🤗

Here we have “Crowd Pleaser,” a very different kind of piece for me. It is very much a mixed media, on cradled birch panel, measuring 24 x 18 x 2. The sides are left natural wood. I do enjoy creating from my imagination. This abstract botanical was created with acrylics, hand made, printed collage elements, some Posca markers and finishing up with layers and layers of mediums and finishing with a matte polyurethane for a gorgeous satin, resin- like look and feel.

8/19/2023, 2:33:11 PM

Truth be told… it’s these little ones that are the hardest ones for me to finish. I have quite a few of these 10 x 10 x 2 white shadow box frames hanging around, and I have a hard time working small. This mixed media piece, “Hidden Gem,” has been a work in progress for a really long time. Till I decided to add some collage elements to it, and found that it worked to add depth and interest; and pull everything together for me into a beautiful little abstract landscape. I ❤️this little gem!

8/15/2023, 3:48:51 AM

Here’s the second experimental piece all finished ! ‘Seed Pods in the Moonlight. ‘ The art isn’t experimental. It’s the finishing that I was experimenting with. This is a 12 x 12 on cradled birch wood. Finished with a satin resin-like finish. Sides are painted white. DM for purchase info.

8/9/2023, 10:34:47 PM

This piece is the first of two that have been a bit more experimental artworks than I usually engage in. By this I mean, that once I created these mixed media works on cradled birch panels, I decided I would explore various substances (mainly mediums) to achieve a satin, smooth resin-like finish on them! This process was scary for me; as I didn’t want to ruin a completed work of art! But ; I didn’t have enough forethought to practice on scraps of art; or throwaway pieces that I had no attachment to! So in the end I did achieve what I set out to do; but it took about four times as long as I figured it would. I never once thought about all the sanding in between layers; and drying ( curing) time. So I learned something new. Would I do it again? Not on a regular basis. Don’t get me wrong. I think the finish is stunning. But all the extra work is definitely a custom up charge; for sure! “Morocco Vibes” 12 x 12 Faux resin finish. Sides distressed. DM for further info.

8/8/2023, 2:27:42 AM

This particular painting, “Soul Sister;” has been hanging in my own home. It’s always been an absolute favorite of mine! I loved it when I first made its couple of years ago… and I still love it today! This says a great deal about the strength of a pit of art. It works. A success. Compositionally, color harmony, interesting mark making, and fun, positive vibes! Thought I’d share it with all of you in this beautiful room setting. 🎨💕 #artinsitu #abstractpainting #favoritepainting #artistentrepreneur #abstractartist #eatsleepdrinkart #artforinteriors #interiorstylists #artforthehome #jendacotaartist

8/5/2023, 1:27:16 PM

In progress; for sure. The art of creating takes time. Way longer than you can imagine. For me, anyway. I’ve been practicing and experimenting with creating my own art prints; and taking some of those and mounting them onto the cradled birch boards; collage style. I’m also working out various effects with finishes on these 2 pieces, hoping to achieve something cool and spectacular, whereas all these layers I’m adding will , in the end, highlight the textures and depth of the designs. #workinprogressart #experimenting #creating_boldly #workingonmyideas #artentrepreneur🎨 #artistatwork #artistwork #artwork #art2lifeartists #cvp2022 #jendacotaartist #artprocess #womenwhocreate #workingartist #expressiveart #contemporarypainting #abstractexpressionism #emergingartist

I’m so thrilled to announce that these three paintings of mine have been selected by the jurors for this year’s Art Ability show! Details will be forthcoming as soon as they are available. I’ve been playing around a bit with the @smartistapp and really enjoying visualizing all the benefits I can gain from using this fun and easy tool to see the possibilities and truly visualize how my art can look in an actual room setting! “Blooming Ecstasy. “ 36 x 36. Currently available on my website.

This morning’s eye opener! Last day of vacay. Corolla, NC. Breathe…..

7/13/2023, 12:15:36 PM

Another from the Oasis series! I have been experimenting with the process of producing Color field paintings. This one is Pink Opal. 36 x 36 x 1.50 canvas I’m loving the depth of color and the mesmerizing peace and serenity.

7/2/2023, 3:47:09 AM

I’ve been really pleased with my results on a new series of work I’ve been creating! Here’s the first one completed. This is an important step for me; in my abstract painting. With each and every piece, I begin with the intention to create a work that has 100% abstract qualities. Nothing recognizable. A pure color field; an oasis. Pure enjoyment. And until now, I haven’t been able to achieve this. I become distracted with the texture, design, composition, things that appear; and then I follow these paths to an outcome I never intended. Which is fine too. But this time; I figured out how to make the paintings that only I could envision before. For me, it’s a totally different way of finishing up a piece. But I’m so happy, to have kept working at it towards a successful conclusion! I had 2 large paintings going at once; and they both became exactly what I wanted. The series I called “Oasis” This piece is “Malachite “ 36 x36 x2 on canvas.

6/30/2023, 1:54:45 PM

Un-stretched canvas. This piece was giving me such southwest vibes the entire time I was painting her! Bringing back beautiful memories of the time we visited New Mexico. We both loved that trip! Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque. 68 x 52. Mixed media. “On the way towards Santa Fe. “

6/24/2023, 7:06:33 PM

Another glass fusion collaboration with @barryblecher_glassartist. Pictured here is a side view to give you a look at the layers of glass that is fused in a kiln which he adds to my art. 😁 Finished size is 20” x 20”.

6/16/2023, 12:49:49 PM

I nearly forgot to post the third kaleidoscope painting; “Letting Go. “ 30 x 30 on canvas. Mixed media abstract. My website has been updated to include these three from the Kaleidoscope Series, as well as the entire Sea Glass Series which have not been seen yet on social media! Check it out! Link in bio.

6/12/2023, 1:01:59 PM

This fun painting from the Kaleidoscope Series is called “Sunnyside Up. “ She a real eye opener with all the color, patterning, and movement going on. My husband says that I live all of my paintings; not true actually. But both this one and Happiness Magnet from my last post are my favorites so far from this series. Stay tuned… one more getting ready to post! 30 x 30 x 1.5 canvas

6/1/2023, 1:27:10 PM

My series is complete! I’ve been working on a very large body of work inspired by my personal collection of sea glass that I adore. I’ve just finished painting # 20! I had this idea to delve into my subject and see how far it would take me. It all began with a 48 x 48 “ piece that was the fuel that kept me going as I created 19 more paintings on cradled birch panels. The birch pieces are mixed media with collage and range in size from 12 by 12; to 16 x 16; and 20 by 20. Shown here are # 3,5,15, and 16. The series is titled “Transformation.

5/11/2023, 4:10:56 AM

This 26 by 26 is the final piece now completed from my previous post. 🤗 4 more to go to complete my large series! Will share all the details once I’ve finished! #seriesart #seriesartwork2023 #exploringanidea #creatingmyvision #artistatwork🎨 #paintingismyjam #artentrepreneurship #artenterprise #mixedmediaartist #jendacotaartist

5/1/2023, 5:43:49 AM

Happy weekend everyone! An update for you on my “Transformation “ series… I’ve completed #10, pictured here; 12 x 12 on cradled birch panel. Yesterday I received my shipment of final panels of 16 x 16’s and 20 x 20’s. Now on to the prep work!!

4/15/2023, 1:12:27 PM

I have this creative vision for myself. And it begins with creating a new body of work; with a concept. This idea developed over time; until all the pieces made complete and utter sense. I am so “into” my ideas… I’m digging deep, and exploring further into a series than I ever have before. My concept so far is to create at least 19 pieces in the series, to be exhibited together; for the effect that I’m envisioning. So far I’ve completed 8 paintings. This one is No. 6. Mixed media abstracts on cradled wood. Will post further updates as they happen.

4/10/2023, 3:37:31 AM

Yesterday was Opening Reception at Wayne Art Center. Only took a couple of pics of my painting, “Color Play. “ I must say, I thought it looked so great in its position at the top center here in my picture; I got a whole new perspective on it from wherever I was in the room. It’s a very strong piece; in both design and colors; there’s a small turquoise square, like a gem; in the lower center, that would catch your eye…Anyway; the whole art center was packed! What a turnout! A whole lot of excitement buzzing around and I’m thrilled to have had my piece selected for this Regional show. Show closes the end of April. Lots of very good, art on display. Make the trip to see the show if you can. 200 pieces of art to enjoy. 🧡

4/3/2023, 1:34:22 PM

So, I’ve been meaning to post about this latest venture; I made the decision to collaborate with a glass fusion artist (who also happens to be my husband), on several projects. These 2 pics are from Garden Under Glass. The second pic is shot from the side to give an idea of the depth. @barryblecher_glassartist selects one of my paintings that he loves; I photograph the area that we decide will work best, and enlarge it so it can be reproduced on metal. So my art becomes the inspiration for his piece. As the work progresses, the two mediums become one!

3/31/2023, 3:59:50 AM

Here’s one of my recent works on paper. “New Possibilities. “ Mixed media with collage, measuring 12 x 16. DM for purchase info.

3/27/2023, 1:53:32 PM

I’m very excited that this painting, “Color Play “ has been chosen from nearly one thousand entries to be included in the Wayne Art Center’s 2023 Regional Juried Spring Open. This show will be on view from March 27-April 29, 2023. Further details will be forthcoming. 😁

This painting has now become my new favorite! I’ve just finished reworking the original. I kept parts of it; added new… and created my best work. (I believe) Swipe left to view my original. There were areas that didn’t sit well with me, looking at it over a year later. Do you prefer the old or the new version? Let me know in the comments. 😁 “Blooming Ecstasy “ 36 x 36

2/15/2023, 10:06:20 PM

I’m extremely happy to have successfully completed the Totem painting project! The painting is a mixed media with collage on heavy duty paper; which was then mounted onto a 1” thick foam board 36x 60”; covered in raw linen. The Totem has its own base of linen covered foam( 1 “), for a total depth of 2 in. Since this is a large piece, the assembly was tricky. Managing various adhesives, plus the fabric, plus the foam board and not getting any wrinkles in it was like a juggling act ; a sticky juggling act. Thankfully I had an assistant ; husbands come in handy for things like this! It’s a great feeling to see your ideas become reality! Please DM for further details/info. 😄

1/17/2023, 1:54:45 PM

I’ve been working exclusively on larger paper projects for the past month while I’ve been engineering a substrate to mount the Totem Pole painting onto. That project is nearing completion; yay! Hopefully all finished and looking good by the weekend. This interesting piece; which I love, is titled “Some Things Are Better left Unsaid. “ 18 x 24 mixed media on heavy duty paper. Available. DM for purchase info.

1/12/2023, 1:16:03 PM

These three on my wall right now. All works in progress. Also all 24 x 18 mixed media on heavy duty paper nearly completed. Hopefully, soon ! I found it fun and a challenge, working on all of these at the same time!

12/24/2022, 12:52:10 AM

Another 20 x 14 mixed media work on paper titled “Have Fun. “ I’m really enjoying the exploration of design with the mixed media using color, pattern, and some collage. Breaking up the repetition a bit on this one. DM for purchase info.

There’s a piece of a map left visible in this painting, that I just didn’t want to cover up, as I was working on the rest of this piece. I actually love how maps look. So fine; such intricate details… But I wanted to share something about myself on this subject. When I try to find something on a map; it might as well be written in Chinese or some other foreign language. I cannot make sense of a map. Never. At this point I’ve given up trying. So I’ve gathered up all our paper road maps and now use them in my artwork. 🤣 True Story This piece is titled “Explore. “ 12 x 12 mixed media on board and in a black wooden float mounted frame. Available.

I know I usually paint pretty large sized paintings; but I seem to be on a journey lately. Painting in a smaller format; working out techniques and design principles I’ve learned this past year , before implementing them onto the larger canvases. I’ve also learned to work on several pieces at the same time; and with limited space; it makes total sense to work this way for now. Having a few paintings going at once allows me to be looser, and freer(sp) because there’s nothing precious about anything I’m working on. Just keep moving. Going from one to the other keeps it fresh and fun; until it gets real. The time to pull it together. Looking for elements I really like in a piece and going in that direction. Thinking about what it is I’m trying to say. What am I trying to express? Can these pieces become part of a series? Then I can take this further; to larger formats. “Listen to Me” 12 x12 Mixed media on wood panel. Black wooden float frame. Dm for purchase info.

No one has seen much of me on social media lately; due to this! This painting; which is very unlike what I normally create… has had me crazy with details. “Headed Home “ was the most challenging piece I’ve worked on! Not that it was hard; but the details had me for hours and hours until finally I felt it matched my vision. I dug out my oil paints for this one; also not my usual medium. I actually love the creaminess and workability of using oils; but it’s pretty messy; and some of my tubes are quite old and don’t close all that well. So they’re a bit dry. One day I’ll replace those oldies and have a better painting experience next time! Hahaha 🤣 I’ll post on my website soon. “Remnants of Another Time and Place. “ 28 x 22 mixed media on canvas. As this piece was coming along, it began to give me the feel of old, vintage billboards. I love antiques; things with a history and a mystery. Things that have signs of wear, distress, are signs of humbleness and contribute to the story behind the piece (s). When I began this painting, I couldn’t imagine I would end up with a still life of two mugs that told a story! This piece is a mixed media, heavily textured painting, of a moment in time. A moment many of us can relate to. When it’s just the two of us sitting quietly enjoying our morning coffees and dreaming. Dreaming big. Planning our futures. Or maybe a vacation? thinking aloud together about our dream home. That’s always a big one for us. It is the quiet times that we love so much. Uninterrupted, wonderful moments spent together, bringing us closer. “Possibilities “ 12 x12 x.75 on canvas. available on my website. Link in bio above.

Mystical, “Magical,” An abstract landscape oil painting with mixed media. 24x20x1 I’m so thrilled with the outcome of this little gem. From the unusual use of color and materials; besides oil paints I used fabric dyes, resists, and oil pastels. I feel that the overall “Mood” is enticing; as if whispering; “Come into this enchanted forest; and feel the welcoming, friendly, comfort it offers. *avail on my website #oilpainting #hgtv #interiordesign #paintersofinstagram #paintingprocess #jendacotaartist #calledtobecreative #doitfortheprocess #inspiredlife

Putting finishing touches on this assemblage that I began awhile ago. I got inspired to finish this when the photos of #outerspace were published recently, and it appears that I had painted my “artistic vision “ of this universe 10 years ago; when human eyes had not seen it! So this inspired me to complete this piece as a piece of what I envision to be space junk. And this is the title; “Space Junk” 36 x 24 3D assemblage. Please contact me if interested. 🌓☀️🌟

Beginnings… Into a new series! The first was done a little bit ago; and was larger than these. I’ve been so inspired to pursue my ideas and do a series of small-ish paintings, even though abstract; people can relate to. It will be the colors, mood, feelings and memories evoked. More will be revealed as I progress with the work. Stay tuned!

I only needed to adjust Design and Value B very minimally. Pic number 1 is the new rendition. Pic number 2 is the original. Can you see the slight differences?

I’ve been slowly reworking this large paper piece over the last couple weeks. Calling her done! Changed colors up, added some depth in the darks, and lots of movement; I feel. “Turmoil “ available on my website, or DM. 48 x 36. 💜

I know this looks like the same post; however, I reworked his head details. Being that I’m an abstract artist, this is new for me! Never ever did I think I could produce a portrait!

The final, final version of my ‘play’ boards. It is hard for me to work small. These are 12 x 12. Not sizes I normally paint. But I’ll have to get used to it for the duration of CVP 2022 at least. All lessons are completed on these sized boards. The best takeaway so far; is that I am once again dreaming of painting! Really, really dreaming of it. Vivid colors and color combinations that are exciting to me! YES ❣️

“Gaining Independence “ was originally a different painting. But it just didn’t work for me anymore. So I’ve been redoing nearly all of it; and I’m so pleased with how it turned out! After much deliberation, I even gave this piece a much better name. 40 x 30 canvas; mixed media. Check my website to purchase. ( Link in Bio)

“Stampede. “ One of my favorite paintings that I have ever created. Once I decided on my colors, I mixed up a lot of paint , and truly enjoyed the process! Using tools, hands, brushes, and a good deal of matte medium; this fun painting had great flow. The decisions I made along the way didn’t fight with me. Smooth sailing. I just love it when that happens. 🤩 36 x 36 x 1.5 DM for purchase info.

I’m his “person. “ where I go; he goes. And he’ll forever be my pup. His personality is as big as he is. And he’s very in tuned with our feelings; always trying to communicate. I’m so glad I never got him those buttons to hit so he could actually “talk” I had that feeling that we’d have a talkative dog, telling us what to do. Hahaha! Best of all; he’s a big cuddle bug. 🖤🐾
