Today is what would have been the 175th birthday of the namesake of our song "Ludwig Boltzmann". Born in Vienna on this day in 1844, he is known today for his work on the phenomenon of entropy, which was unfortunately not accepted during his lifetime by his peers. As a result, he suffered from depression and took his own life in 1906, only a few years before his ideas would be recognized by the academic community at large. On this day, we would like to extend our gratitude and recognition for his advancements to scientific knowledge, and to bring attention to the ever-important topic of mental health.
