It was a transformative experience for me having an opportunity to share with the students of @arizonastateuniversity (@asudance, @asusalsaclub). The curiosity and openness was thoroughly refreshing. Beyond the academic responsibilities, I had the opportunity to choreograph a new work, audition dancers and work for an extended number of hours preparing a new piece for presentation with a wonderful group of talented, wide-eyed young students. Their care for the work and the process was truly heart warming and they made me feel like I may be finding my next phase in this wonderful world of art and education. Thank you to all the students for being so gracious and a special thanks to the performers who spent so much time with me in the theatre being indoctrinated in the intricacies of #AfroLatinFunk. Ballet Hispánico Yesterday brought an end to the Company’s Spring Season in Manhattan at The New York City Center - it’s 54th season in the history of the Company performing in New York City. Ballet Hispánico is the largest Latinx/Latine/Hispanic cultural organization in the U.S. and is recognized by the Ford Foundation as one of America’s Cultural Treasures. For years the company and its graceful, athletic, energetic, and message-infused dances have been an inspiration to me. In honor of Eduardo Vilaro’s 15th season as Artistic Director, the Spring Season included and we saw yesterday what at the open was the World Premiere of “Buscando a Juan,” Vilaro’s new work inspired by The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibition of “Juan de Pareja, Afro-Hispanic Painter,” which explores sancocho, a misto of cultures and diasporas; a restaging of “Mad’moiselle,” Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s exploration of iconic male/female images and gender identity in Latin American cultures and her first major work under Vilaro’s tenure (for which publicly available images were rare, especially of the Prima); and “18+1,” Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s celebration of the vulnerability and hope that comes with each artistic endeavor, that was a really energetic piece set to snappy Perez Pedro music that wouldn't load in to this post. @nycitycenter @ballethispanico #ballethispánico #eduardovilaro @metmuseum #newyorkcitycenter #dance #dancers #dancersofinstagram #dancersworld #dancerslife #latinartist #latinart #latinmusic #ballet #latindance #latindanceworld #latinx #nycculture #nyclife

Am 26.04.2024 ehrte der Oberbürgermeister der Hansestadt Stralsund seine Sportler des Jahres 2023. Jonas & Frida siegten in der Kategorie Beste Mannschaft gemischt. Skady belegte Platz 2 in der Kategorie "Besonders engagierte Funktionsträgerin" für ihre Trainertätigkeit und ihre Funtion als Jugendwartin in unserem Verein.
