We’re about 6 months out from #WildontheWater! Please save the date! June 4th, 2022 🛶What is it? Wild on the Water, an annual guided paddling tour on Mountain Island Lake at Latta Nature Preserve, is Charlotte Wildlife Steward's annual fund-raising event. The financial support generated by donations at this event allows us to provide all of our great programming, projects and initiatives we offer the Charlotte community throughout the rest of the year. Paddlers enjoy a close-up view of an active osprey nest platform and other area wildlife during the paddle. 🛶 How much does it cost? $50, which includes an entry into our fabulous raffle with so many cool prizes, a gift, lunch/snacks and the experience of a lifetime! 🛶 Do I have to bring a kayak or canoe? No, one will be provided for you (on a first come, first served basis). You are also welcome to bring your own boat/SUP if desired. The registration fee is still required if you bring your own boat/SUP. 🛶 What time? 9:00am-12:30pm 🛶Do I need to register? Yes, entries will close on May 15th. The signup link will be posted closer to the event. 🛶 I don’t want to paddle, can I still help? Yes! Today, I'm highlighting Charlotte's - @LattaPlantationNaturePreserve I love this place so much because it's a great venue to get back to nature and relax. If you are a fan of outdoor activities, this is definitely a place worth visiting. The nature preserve was founded in 1981, and “Quest” was open in 2020, it is the interactive portion of Latta plantation where many native animals are able to be seen and studied. You can find two launch sites to access the lake for paddle boarding or kayaking, 16 miles of trails, sand volleyball courts and locations for fishing, the options seem endless for outdoor fun!
