At July's edition of Hub One's Epic Hour last Friday, we had the pleasure of having Adetayo Bamiduro, co-founder of @maxdotng, give us insights on how to build a technology startup that socially impacts lives using his startup as a case study. ⠀ ⠀ The session, attended by over 50 players in the Lagos technology ecosystem, was a highly interactive and enlightening one.⠀ ⠀ If you were absent, here are 10 points to note:⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ As a tech founder, think 'problems' first before worrying about technology; be more concerned about the problem you want to solve before worrying about the technology to be used.⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ Something a lot of people might pay money for is what solves a problem for them; before launching a product into the market, ensure it is meeting a need for a majority of people.⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ The way a problem is solved might not exactly be the way the money is made.⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ Understanding the concept of Monetization is the baseline for raising venture capital.⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣ Have a strong understanding of your target market. Do your research!⠀ ⠀ 6️⃣ Understanding human beings at a very deep level will make you realize how programmable we all are.
