It means they a competition for the local species and are a threat to them. They can create serious damage to the local ecosystem. This is why in entire Europe there is a ban on releasing them, for breeding there would have to be special cause and permission. The invasive species by default cannot stay in the wild and often if found they get killed. The alternative is catching them, neutering, and keeping locked for rest of their lives. But even this often requires special permission, so it is mostly handled by dedicated organizations and shelters. Today’s project was a small wildlife pond in an old whiskey barrel. It’s got a pond liner to stop anything leaching out from the wood. I’ve created different layers with bricks, a slate slab, stones, pebbles and gravel for the plants to sit on in baskets. Plus some rocks and branches for creatures to get in and out. It’s a bit murky still even though I thoroughly washed everything. These are the plants added today; Thalia dealbata Cyperus alternifolius Juncus effusus spiralis Equisetum japonicum Caltha palustris Hippuris vulgaris Lysimachia nummularia aurea These plants will be added next week when they arrive; Ceratophyllum demersum (Hornwort) Stratiotes aloides (Water soldiers) Some of the plants will be moved to other ponds I make in the future as they get too big or I’ll divide them and replant. हमारा अँधा भोग सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी के लिए विनाश (जलवायु परिवर्तन, ग्लेसिअर पिघलना, बाढ़, सूखा, समुद्र स्तर बढ़ना, इत्यादि) का कारण बन गया है। कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड और मीथेन गैस जलवायु परिवर्तन का सबसे बड़ा कारण है और पशु उद्योग मीथेन गैस उत्सर्जन में सबसे बड़ा योगदान है। जलवायु परिवर्तन के कारण सालाना हजारों प्रजातियाँ विलुप्त हो रही हैं और इसकी गति प्राकृतिक विलुप्तता के मुकाबले 10,000 गुना बढ़ गयी है। इसी के साथ बाढ़, सूखा, समुद्र स्तर जैसी कई आपदाएँ इंसानों के लिए बड़ा संकट बन गया है। इस विनाश से बचने के लिए हमें अंधाधुंध बंद कर जीवन में बोध और करुणा लाना होगा तथा पशु उत्पाद की जगह वनस्पति आधारित उत्पाद अपनाना होगा। Our unchecked consumption is wreaking havoc on our planet, manifesting in climate upheaval, disappearing ice caps, floods, droughts, and rising sea levels.
