My mother taught me an important habit that has stuck with me forever. If you know me, you know I say ‘thank you’ for anything and everything. As a child, my mother would kindly remind me to say it until it was second nature, an automatic response to any act of kindness shown towards me or my family. Back then, it didn’t seem so important. Now, it’s one of the best habits my mother ever taught me. She is a wonderful mother. _ I’ve noticed in today’s world, people aren’t as quick to say ‘thank you’ for any and every act of kindness and that’s alright. I will still say it as my mother taught me. _ Is this something your mother or parent taught you as a child? Are you teaching your children this habit? And just like that, we have a 4 month old!!! 🐻🥰 _ Luke’s whole world has awakened this month!!!! He’s smiling 24/7 (not here, though), finding his voice by cooing and sleeping a good 8-9 hours a night. He also gets tickled when he sees familiar faces. _ Fun fact, the big bear is my “My-da-bear” that I received for Christmas when I was only 5 years old!!! I’ve had such a strong attachment to My-da for as long as I can remember. That bear is 22 years old and going strong. 🐻 _ You might be wondering, what’s up with that strange name?? Well, 🤪 when I was younger, my mother didn’t allow me to say “duh” and for good reason! I didn’t know it back then, though. So, I was brainstorming in my lil 5-year-old brain 🤯 of what to name her. I ended up with “my” as in my bear and “da” as in DUH! 😅😭 weirdest story ever but it’s mine & I love it. 🐻 _ We love you so much, Luke Chandler Jones!!! Mommy and daddy’s lil baby bear. 🐻🐻🐻🐻
I’ve been MIA on here and on the blog. We had a sudden flood in our bathroom downstairs that’s left me tied up. However, during the midst of this I have realized something. God has prepared me to handle this by recently being an apartment manager. I immediately called who we needed to, they responded appropriately and have been working hard ever since. This happened Tuesday night. While they were digging up the flooring, chasing the sewer water, they came across what looked like another leak. This one is coming from or heater vents. So, I called who we needed and they came out promptly as well. THEN, we came across ANOTHER leak from our upstairs bathroom coming down near the bathroom that flooded. When it rains, it pours, right??? As an apartment manager, this is also what I did for our tenants. In addition, kept the office running smoothly. Now that I’m staying home with Luke, in our home, I have been running it smoothly (or so I hope... Brooks??🤓) with caring for Luke, caring for Stewie, managing all of the contractors in and out the past couple of days, and ultimately, the house work. I find it so fascinating how God prepares us at any given moment. I’m so thankful for sweet snuggles from this loaf of banana nut bread. Life is good. ❤️

Mr. Luke is holding his head up more and more. It’s hard to believe this tiny human will grow and change so much in the next few months. I’M WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER, Luke Chandler. We’re taking it slow today. I worked real hard and fast the past 2 weeks to get my booth up and feel the stress/tension in my back and shoulders. I sense an epsom salt bath in my near future. Like tonight. 🙌🏼 what helps you with aches in your shoulders and back? I’d love to hear any recommendations! I try not to take more than 4-6 Tylenol/ibuprofen per day when this happens. Y’all it is COLD in North Texas!! I’ve got this lil koala bear in tow. 🐨 We had a great drive down here last night! Luke slept the entire time! 4.5 hour nap.. who could complain? 😅 Hopefully little man is meeting some more family today. Depends on if the roads are drive-able from Oklahoma. ❄️ I haven’t been home in 4 months because of pregnancy and feeling totally miserable those last couple of months. The whole world is ahead of Luke Chandler and I have ALL of the feels about it. Being a mother has helped me with patience and I’m learning to slow down A LOT. I’ve been living my life going 100 mph afraid of FOMO and always having to stay busy to keep my anxiety at bay. I pray Luke grows to be confident in himself, something that’s taken me nearly 25 years to do. Here I am, a couple months shy of 27 and I have just now, about 2 years ago, become comfortable in my own skin. I pray Luke dreams big and KNOWS his dreams can be attainable. FINALLY got our rocking chair delivered. 🙌🏼 I could have had a different fabric come sooner buttttt I was set on the denim and we all know how when I make a decision, my heart is set on it. 😆 I swear, once I SHOULD be done with a room, I think of more ideas to add on to it. I’m now thinking about white or wooden sumo shelves (thinking 18x12”) spread out on the mountain wall to display stuffed animals. What do y’all think??
