Mannn I've been dying to have even the smallest of fab tables, Just something semi flat to weld on. Not much room in the shop for anything significant but this little slatted table just turned my life around lolll. Just some 1/2" plate spaced at 1/2" so I could use some of the mill T slot fixtures. Couple braced bars for the structure. Get to work ! Got the top welded up for the intake plenum. I was so worried about destroying the bottom 1/8th plate because the top rail is 1/4" thick to have some thread for the lid to bolt on. Managed to get through the welding with minimal washing onto the sealing surface of the top rail the slatted fab table took all the heat and kept the work peice nice and flat once it cooled. Practice , practice.... The top plenum bolts to the existing factory lower plenum via the port flange bolts. Just enough room to get my hand in to tighten the 6 Allen cap bolts that mount the upper to the lower. Small bead of right stuff should seal the lid. Time to get more pieces tacked up and welded out !. Will machine the port holes for the ford 2 wire iacv on the bottom of the port flange and will tuck nicely under the plenum out of sight. Trans in location, Frankenstein'd the factory crossmember, it was only supposed to hold the trans in place temporarily to measure the drive shaft. got a little carried away with fusion and the mill lol. Will make a full billet member eventually just happy to see it all in line and has just enough room in the tunnel to party!. A solid finger gap everywhere around the case. Round 2 on this prototype adpater. Few minor changes in the machining CAM and were making smooth chips over here. The 1350 u joint pilot is an important feature as it locates the u joint concentric to the bolt patterns on the adpater along with the 3 raised bosses on the lexus side and the center pilot on the pinion gear. These tolerances are machined to a snug slip fit ensuring no free play between joint ,shaft and differential. The Original engine harness... it was a interesting task deciphering the complete lexus engine and body harness over the last month. I removed every pin from the factory computer only leaving the essentials in the harness- constant power, switched power plus the starter trigger and hot feed and main relay trigger wire. Wires needed are -Start trigger wire green/red stripe on 97'harness to switched 12v off key or wired through clutch safety switch. Main point is trigger wire is green/red -Main relay trigger was turned on by factory computer. Blk/yellow -Reverse lights - I believe this is the blue wire in the trans harness still need to confirm. -Vss will have to come from abs and dakota digital box I've started pinning the ecumaster black and so far Iv layed out my ignition and injection wires, ect, iat. This will be a wasted spark setup running 4coil outputs to 8 COP. Such great memories, my bro Joey showing how you straighten out a new running line... this was the first excursion with the prototype summer run reels and boy what a workout they received. My brother Rylan, Joey and I walked up this riffle on a blue bird morning in northern country to find a pod of inconspicuously looking dark formations. Careful not to get to close, all of a sudden one of the dark figures made a move and as it came closer the rosey cheeks of a buck about 10lbs shot up through ankle deep water infront of us and headed for the next run. We ducked down and got close to the waters surface and backed up about 20 feet to set up for a cast. Eyes Locked in on what seemed to be a handful of what we came looking for... The holding water was to shallow to fish a weighted tip- we kept the dry line on with a smaller dark fly. It was Joe's turn up first, shaking with excitement he flicked the tip out ,it was a good flick. The line laid out straight- all in slow motion as I saw the feathers settle ...the fly fell into the current in rhythmic yet direct movement and started its haul across the riffle just under its surface, no later than a few seconds after the fly showed life-like movement the bottom of the riffle exploded with no regaurd to anything but destroying the bug that was presented... this exceptional doe came to hand after some monumental down river runs barely staying within the grasp of the run where she was laying. A brushed finish wide spool series II. I completed this reel some time ago but just came across the photos recently again. A nice change from the mirror units. The brushed finishes hold their own in my eyes and show a nice contrast between the brass and aluminum parts. Built for the big river and beyond. Sidenote: I really liked how the cage windows came out on this reel. Most are made with a flannel outer layer, but a couple of the plaid prints are knit material. All are lined with grey glacier fleece to keep your kiddos super warm and cozy! *I have a light pink glacier fleece ordered too. They’ll have metal snap closures for extra strength as the fleece is quite thick. (Pics tomorrow) - The hood and cuffs can be picked from in stock material to coordinate with your plaid/print choice.
