I have a lot of news for you about this coming weekend change in hours I’ll be open and activities going on in my life. My hubby will be flying out with “Honor Flight Maine”, on Friday, April 26th, so my shop hours will be 11:30-3:00 so I can see him off in the morning. Saturday, April 27th, is LYS (Local Yarn Store) Day and I will be open regular hours from 10:00-3:00. I will be offering some free patterns with the purchase of yarn that the pattern is written for and I’ll have a great sale area with yarn at 25-50% off! I’ll also have a drawing for a very nice door prize. Hope to see you Saturday and want to thank you in advance for all your support! Last but not least, I will be closed on Sunday, April 28th, to attend my hubby’s return and all the festivities that are planned to bring honor the veterans arriving back home on this plane. Our first and fourth year of marriage was spent with him serving in Vietnam and I’m so happy he was selected for this flight to Washington DC. Rosemary’s tip for today is a great way to recycle! I used an empty Planters Peanut can and some cotton yarn from my stash to crochet this simple double crochet pencil/pen holder for my desk. It only took me 30 minutes to make and every time I reach for a pen or pencil, it will make me smile. Was any one else’s plan to get organized this year? It’s almost the end of January and I have projects galore happening. How do you Granny Square? I have decided to assembly line mine. I have to make 8 each of 12 different designs for the Vintage Granny Square Cardigan by @mjsoffthehook I am using @hobbylobby “I Love This Cotton” yarn and a Size 4 mm/G crochet hook. The cardigan is for Spring which in my neck of the woods is a loooong way away. And since I am of the age where dark colors are so hard to see at night 👓💡I am working on this one during the evening. Pamela worked on this beautiful crocheted pullover in my Wednesday Social Group and finished it just in time for Christmas. She used my Cascade 220 Fingering, holding 2 strands together, for the body and Lamb’s Pride for the tree. The pattern was from Ravelry, called “Johanna Christmas Sweater”, by Johanna Buschardt. Finished ✔️ The Double Expresso Duster Cardigan by @mjsoffthehook I love it so much🩶🩶🩶 This is the first crochet sweater I have ever made. I always assumed they would be stiff and chunky but No! I will be making another one in the next size up or bigger hook size. This one is a little tight but it will be perfect for spring. It was a cool 18° F this morning so I would have to put too many layers underneath it for Maine weather. The yarn 🧶 Deramores Studio Special DK was easy and soft. It didn’t split and stitched up well on the seams.
