Sweet treat number 1 from this years Manchester Vegan Festival issss a delicious pastel de nata! These usually eggy pastries were veganified by @bambamvegan and I had to get one as I had never eaten a non-vegan one before!! Made with what I think was silken tofu(?) the middle was soo creamy and sweet with the pastry also 10/10 and flakey. Paired with a cuppa tea it was the first thing I ate as soon as we got in from the festi. I was so so excited to try these and was not let down! Today me and my pals visited the Manchester Vegan Festival! Now I wont go into too much detail on which sweet treats we spoilt ourselves with JUST yet as I just want to say how beautiful of an event this was! It was incredible to see just how many stalls there were and the variety of incredible food people had veganified 😍 The hot food was great we went for the Ethiopian platter from House of Habesha however we didn’t get any shiro with our plate which was a big letdown as thats my favourite bit! The food we did get was lovely, but I do have to say I prefer the overall flavour ( especially of the injera which is usually more citrusy at our usual spot ) at Asmara Bella, so if you’re in Manchester looking for Ethiopian food I still say they stay top dog! Absolutely lovely Thai meal @phanthong_thai_ in Altrincham - it’s Izzy’s last night at home before she heads back to Uni so we went out for a lovely meal - I had these amazing satay mushrooms, followed by tofu massaman curry with sticky rice. As well as specific vegan options, there were lots of dishes on the menu that could be made vegan so I really was spoilt for choice!
