As we reach two-thirds distance, it’s been a bit of a mixed night. First the good; all four drivers have been absolutely flawless, turning in consistently fast and error-free laps aboard the #66 JG Wentworth HPD Acura NSX GT3 Evo around Daytona’s sportscar course. And now the bad. A badly-timed Full-Course Caution just after Mario had made a fuel-and-tire stop in the ninth hour enabled all our rivals who hadn’t yet stopped to pit under yellow and trap us a lap down. And then it happened again, in almost identical fashion, five hours later. Result; we’re still eighth (that hasn’t changed for a while), but two laps down. Frustrating, but the kind of thing you simply cannot predict in endurance racing. Two well-timed cautions are all we need to get back on the lead lap and shoot for the podium. Really pleased with progress on Day Two of IMSA's Roar before the 24. 👍 Katherine Legge set a searing pace at the end of today's second session aboard the #66 JG Wentworth Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22, putting us sixth on the GTD timesheets despite having only been behind the wheel for a few minutes. Her full-season co-driver Sheena Monk continued her impressive progress, gaining more seat time and setting a succession of top-10 marks. Mario Farnbacher's late effort put the NSX seventh in the morning session with Marc Miller also getting behind the wheel. The first morning at the Roar Before the 24 is in the books. Marc Miller was first in and set a strong pace that would wind up good enough for 12th spot in GTD, but Sheena Monk's run was barely a handful of laps old when a holed radiator - a legacy of ingesting a bit of debris - spelt the end of our session at the halfway point.
