Utilizado en todos los estilos de música, el HD-28V ofrece la respuesta de graves profundos que ha hecho que las dreadnoughts de Martin sean tan populares. Sin embargo, también tiene una presencia de gama alta que destaca incluso en instrumentación pesada. Martin & Co. HD-28V Vintage Series 2010 (Este instrumento ya no se encuentra disponible) Este modelo de Martin & Co. pertenece a la gama Vintage Series que utiliza y resalta las técnicas de construcción, materiales y dimensiones de las Martin Pre War. Esta definición corresponde a guitarras de EE.UU. que se hayan fabricado antes de 1942, ya que Estados Unidos ingresó en la Segunda Guerra Mundial recién en ese año. Tomando como partida el modelo D-28 (la D corresponde a Dreadnought) este modelo posee un festonado en su tapa con perfil de huesos de arenque Bold Herringbone, de allí la H de HD. La serie 28 corresponde a los aros y fondos de Indian Rosewood, siendo el plano armónico de Sitka Spruce de alta calidad con maderas rigurosamente seleccionadas tanto por su sonido como el dibujo de sus vetas. La V pertenece a Vintage Series aunque hay algunas publicaciones que insisten en que se trata del perfil en V del mástil. Entre las características de las Vintage Series se destacan: - Hidden Glue o sistema de pegado con lo que conocemos en Argentina como Cola de Hueso de Pescado - Bracing o varillaje de 5 (16” festoneado (Scalloped) desplazado 1 pulgada hacia adelante (Forward Shifting) lo que resalta la vibración en el plano armónico (el sonido es notoriamente distinto a una D-28 Standard). - Afinadores abiertos diseño Butterbean Waverly. - Perfil del cuello o mástil en V, lo que produce un agarre más firme del mástil tanto para strumming (rasgueo) como para fingerpicking. - Diapasón de ébano con incrustaciones de madreperla en forma de Diamantes y Rombos. - Puente de ébano. - Estuche Geib 545E (6 cerraduras) El aroma inconfundible de esta guitarra es bastante conocido, al igual que su sonido particular lo que la hace un instrumento buscado por coleccionistas y estudios de grabación.

This rare 2005 preowned HD-28V Lefty from @martinguitar has been gigged plenty, with a professionally installed LR Baggs Anthem pickup. It's had a small soundboard crack repair on the lower bout, and a very small ding dropfilled on the side by the heel. Both repairs are stable and strong. There are numerous finish dings, pickwear, and superficial finish scratches as you'd expect from a well-played workhorse like this, but it's playing wonderfully and is ready for its next 15 years of shows.
