When it comes to acoustics I prefer Taylor’s because they’re more convenient to play, they come with a pickup system already and they cut better but man something about the Martins tone just feels so earthy. This thing sounds amazing. 1997 Martin HD-28 coming in for a top blemish from a previous hit and glue repair, just wanted it leveled and buffed. It’s leaving with a full Premium Setup and yes, the blemish has been leveled & buffed (slide 4). @daddarioandco EJ16 strings installed, I didn’t want to get in trouble with @martinguitar who stamped “use medium gauge or lighter strings only” on the spine. Appreciation post 🙏🙏 Brought these 3 guitars down to Southeast Guitar Repair in Buford , GA and couldn’t be happier! The Strat and Martin both got a full setup and got the kinks out of the electronics. The square neck resonator needed a new nut. I highly recommend these guys for any work you might need done. They took about 5-6 weeks to get the work finished and it was well worth the wait! There’s a reason they are busy. When you’re good people are going to notice. Martin & Co. D-28 SE "Brazil" 1987 La mejor Martin que ha pasado por @vintageguitarargentina. Por lo que significa su fabricación, por su sonido, estética, presencia, materiales y valor. Ha sido elegida como la guitarra del mes en diciembre de 1987, no sólo por Martin & Co. sino también por la revista Acoustic Guitar que la nombró guitarra del mes y del año. Como ejemplo de esa elección la parte interior de la tapa está firmada a mano por todos los supervisores de control de calidad de Martin. Entre las firmas se encuentra la de Dick Boak y la del presidente Mr. C.F. Martin IV. Es una versión Herringbone del modelo D-28. La sigla SE corresponde a una Signature Edition. Es el producto final del prototipo HD-28BLE #470355 (actualmente en el museo Martin & Co. en Nazareth). Toda la guitarra ha sido fabricada respetando los procesos de selección y manufactura de 1930, con los adhesivos de época. La tapa esta construida con Sitka Spruce grado 8 con un tono antiguo. El bracing es de Spruce escalopeado y el soporte "X" del bracing está corrido 1" hacia la boca, lo que le impacta en los bajos de gran volumen. El inlay de la tapa es un Herringbone medio correspondiente a la geometría usada a mediados 1930. Los aros y fondos son de Brazilian Rosewood de veta amplia y es lo que más valor le agrega a la guitarra, el sonido es el esperado de la mejor madera para aros y fondos. Su aroma es indescriptible. Los bindings son de marfil blanco, color crema. El zigzag de la unión del fondo es el backstrip preferido para las guitarras de altísima gama. El mástil es de caoba con cabeza cuadrada y diamante de madera en la parte posterior de la pala. El cuello es V shapped, con un tensor regulable desde la boca. El diapasón de de African Ebony con un ancho de 1 3/4" en el nut. Los marcadores de posición son del tipo snowflake hechos en abalone incrustado Style 42 al igual que la rosetta. El lustre es polish gloss con excepción del cuello que es satinado. El pickguard es de faux tortoise sobre-laquedo. Los clavijeros son dorados con botones grandes de ébano 16:1. El puente es del tipo old-belly (1930 style) en African Ebony con un spacing de 2 1/4".

For sale at the site! Here’s a 1987 Martin HD-28 dreadnought guitar. It’s had a fresh neck reset, much binding repair, a fret level/dress, new saddle, cleaning, and setup work. It’s completely original save the saddle and heel cap and has aged into a nice, orangey-yellow color in its clearcoat. This has a very fast, modern neck profile similar to current-generation Martins and has an adjustable truss rod as well.
