UAEの映画だけあって登場する男たちは屈強なアラブ人ばかりで、画面からもちょっと違う感がするものの、その実話ベースの物語は既視感のあるものでしたね。それでも迫力ある戦闘シーンやテンポの良い展開で、なかなか面白い映画でした。現場になってるのはイエメンの内戦でこれが難しい、日本人には理解しにくい問題もあって、映画の主人公たちがホントに正義の味方とも言いにくい。何ともスッキリはしない映画でしたね。 . 監督はフランスの映画監督で「96時間」や「ライリー・ノース -復讐の女神-」などのピエール・モレル監督です。さすがはリュック・ベッソン監督が認めるだけはある、アクションも撮れる監督です。 . 何も考えないで鑑賞する分には何も問題の無い、面白い戦争アクション映画でした。 #映画 #UAEフランス映画 #MarwanAbdullah #KhalifaAlbahri #PierreMorel Director #Alkameen #TheAmbush

THE AMBUSH (2021) Arabic [action, drama, war] *** SCORE: 8,5/10 *** STORY: When the patrol unit got ambushed by the enemies, the Quick Response Force are sent to rescue them in a hostile territory. *** REVIEW: A solid war movie that I haven't seen for a quite long time. The last war movie similiar to this is The Outpost (2019). But while the first half of The Outpost is quite boring, The Ambush is really intense even from the start. The first 20 minutes is like the background story where we are introduced with the characters and then comes the never ending intense battle scenes along with the battle strategies. Many times situation felt like they have been cornered with no way out. The production design is magnificent. It's like bringing the real battle experience in front of our eyes. The armored vehicle, helicopter that was equipped with many weapons named Apache, the uniforms, the RPGs, the guns, all make a very believable settings. I really love the scenes where the Apache shoots the enemy. It was one of my favorite scenes. The cinematography is excellent. Even though most of the settings are on the rock environment, still, it managed to made a beautiful view in many scenes. Also the slow motion comes at the right amount and at the right time to emphasize the important scenes. The casts are all the names that I never heard about, but man, they are really great. Even though it made me felt quite hard to distinguished every casts here, but I really enjoyed their performance. The background music is beautiful, made by Harry Gregson-Williams. Williams are not my favorite composer but I do really think that the music supports every scene nicely, especially on the slow motion one. *** CONCLUSION: A really great war movie.
