Good relations with relatives Allah has said in the Quran to maintain the relationship of kinship, in some hadiths and verses of the Qur'an, it has been said that the rights of kinship shall be realized after directly talking about the rights of Allah. Small Shirk As I stood to pray, aiming to please Allah, I noticed someone beside me. I thought, why not recite the Surah with a bit of extra melody? Initially, my intention was solely to please Allah, but now another intention has crept in, to please the person next to me. This phenomenon is known as "Ria" or "Small Shirk," which essentially means associating partners with Allah. If we pray to show off, our prayer will not be accepted by Allah. Whether one is a Hafiz, a martyr, or engages in significant charity, if it's done for the purpose of showing off, it will all go in vain. Show-off behavior is akin to an insect that consumes our good deeds. Social media has facilitated the activities of this destructive insect. To shield ourselves from it, scholars have suggested two things. 1. Always check your intention(Niyyah نِيَّةٌ) 2. Engage in daily actions known only to Allah. Taking care of one of the absolute blessings of Allah Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "O `Abdullah! Have I not been formed that you fast all the day and stand in prayer all night?" I said, "Yes, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "Do not do that! Observe the fast sometimes and also leave them (the fast) at other times; stand up for the prayer at night and also sleep at night. Your body has a right over you, your eyes have a right over you and your wife has a right over you." Sahih al-Bukhari 5199 Islam emphasizes three aspects of caring for your body: 1. Maintain cleanliness: This encompasses performing wudu regularly, trimming nails, bathing, and ensuring thorough cleanliness after using the toilet. 2. Regulate sleep: Establish a consistent sleep schedule. 3. Engage in physical activity: Exercise regularly. While the last two points can be challenging, implementing small changes can make them more manageable. Before meals, remember the Prophet's (ﷺ) practice of not overeating. Avoid staying up late; the Prophet (ﷺ) advised against staying awake all night for prayer, so why stay awake for other activities? If you're not feeling sleepy, engage in Qiyamul-Lail. If finding time for formal exercise is difficult, incorporate physical activity into your daily routine, such as using stairs instead of elevators. It is not a light matter at all Consider this scenario, You've invested your entire life savings to build a house, only to discover later that bamboo was used instead of steel. How safe would it be to live there? The Prophet (ﷺ) once passed by two graves and said, "They (the deceased persons in those graves) are being tortured not for a great thing to avoid." And then added, "Yes, (they are being punished for a big sin), for one of them used to go about with calumnies while the other never saved himself from being soiled with his urine." (Ibn `Abbas added): Then he took a green leaf of a date-palm) and split it into two pieces and fixed one piece on each grave and said, "May their punishment be abated till these (two pieces) get dry." Why is this topic so crucial? Scholars have explained that it reflects negligence towards cleanliness. Cleanliness holds immense importance in Islam; it's a prerequisite before prayer. Biggest responsibility The Quran emphasizes the importance of showing affection towards both parents and children, but it places particular emphasis on parental affection. The love towards their child from a parent comes naturally if their son makes a mistake they say he's just a kid don't be harsh towards him. When parents become old and son becomes an adult to be patient towards them forgive their mistakes doesn't happen naturally. He has to give consious affort.
