Also looking into the future at how the Wind Rush Generation continues to evolve and influence the generations to come, in fashion textiles and jewellery. Another bespoke commission successfully completed🙌🏾👏🏾. This is the Anubis, a jackal-headed deity who presided over the embalming process and accompanied dead kings in the afterworld. Anubis was an extremely ancient deity whose name appears in the oldest mastabas of the Old Kingdom and the Pyramid Texts as a guardian and protector of the dead, who watched over the whole process and ensured that the weighing of the heart was conducted correctly. He then led the innocent on to a heavenly existence and abandoned the guilty. I was commissioned to make this piece by the Poet RUNAKO, who has just released a video on YouTube called KARMA where the piece was featured. Can I just start by apologising for my absence… As hard as I sometimes find it to think of things to post that I think you would like to see and be interested in, I also understand this is my way to reach people and show the passion I have for what I do and love. I say all that to say my absence has been with good reason, having suffered serious thumb damage to both my precious hands as a result of road traffic accident. With The Almighty seeming to be forever by my side, I was extremely fortunate to come away with such minor injuries, but unfortunate that I injured the main body parts I depend on to pay the bills. Not being able to carve for months has been a lot harder than I expected, but I couldn’t let BLACK HISTORY MONTH pass me by without a post. This is a little slice of my childhood, my black history. The second list of 3-5 are things you have done well, that you can use as a reason to celebrate this weekend, or treat yourself. Nothing outrageous, just as a pat on the back to yourself. Sometimes we’re so busy working we don’t realise or see our achievements.
