Even when your wax ring sizer has ring sizes written on it, I always recommend checking the ring size on a ring stick. Just to double check! The sizes on some of those off-brand ones don't match the sizes on a ring stick...

If you make rings, you need a wax ring sizer. The single blade sizer is what most of us start with, but if you make a lot of rings a multi blade ring sizer is definitely worth it. Multiple blades make sizing faster and the inside becomes much smoother!

Melanie made two rings today. She had never done any wax carving here so in our 3 hr we covered materials, tools, sizing, basic carving, shaping and then moved onto smoothing and more measured shaping with the wave ring. From here she will cast and use my online beginners course to finish off as she’s just visiting. She did a terrific job. I love teaching these classes. Every session gives back to me and leaves me just as inspired as the students.
All set up for a private tuition class today- beginners hard wax carving. I will show you some pics later. We are covering the basics and making two rings in a 3 hr session. Wax carving does get faster as you become more experienced but I still love to take my time, put some nice music on and just enjoy the creative experience.
