Growing up I had always wanted to travel and hated being in the car 🚘 for hours on end during long road trips. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I looked into flying for a career. I went to my local airport at the time in small town Mariposa and took a discovery flight and instantly fell in love with aviation! ❤🛫 2) Favorite memory flying? My favorite memory flying (and still my favorite thing to do) was my first flight with my first ever passenger! 🙌 The day after I passed my PPL check-ride I took my dad for the first of many $100 🍔🍟 Nothing felt more rewarding than passing my check-ride and being able to fly and grab lunch with someone other than an instructor! 3) Future goals in aviation… For now I’m focused on getting though to commercial and CFI. Meet Rahul, our NEWEST MEMBER and just had his FIRST FLIGHT! 🙌 Name: Rahul Pandey Club position: Club Member Planes you fly: Cherokee N9556K Years flying: 0.005 years (that's two days 😉) 1) Why did you want to learn to fly? The sense of freedom in an airplane 🛩 is unparalleled, leaving all the worries on the ground. One can walk out to an airplane, hop inside, head off in any direction and view the world 🌎 from thousands of feet in the air . 2) So, when you get your license what's next!? My son is equally is excited about the plane ride so once I have the license we are going to explore the west coast together 🙌👨👩👦 3) What is a marine engineer doing flying, I thought you were supposed to be on a ship!? ⚓🚢 There is a lot more common between flying and sailing . The terminology and concepts are very similar and so are the rules. Safety is paramount for both flying and sailing .
