Restaurant Review @pappasonthesquare I’ve been twice for this prawn dish 🦐. It’s absolutely creamy delicious and I’ve been hooked ever since. I do have to say it’s one of my top restaurants. Unfortunately my experience was not as beautiful as these photos came out 😍 but ny experience wasn’t completely horrible either but I did feel it wasn’t up to standard especially for a restaurant in Sandton or maybe the waiter was just not in the mood that day 😅 which is normal as human beings so I might’ve just caught this place on the wrong day & picked the wrong meal 💔 But I will say it is a beautiful space for sure 😍 love the ambience and how sitting outside is giving Italy 🤌🏽 It’s also a very clean minimal space ☺️ so although my experience this time was disappointing I would give it another try on another day ✨

Day 5 of my trip to Africa. Today, I woke up suffering from hangover.. It was so hard, but I drove hard to the zoo, but it rained, so I went to Nelson Mandela Square right away. It was so hard in the car... I went and looked around the shopping center and took pictures. In places like the square, there was a huge statue of Nelson Mandela, and there were many different statues. It was like going to an exhibition. I took a picture and entered the center, and there were many luxury stores like Gucci here. It was amazing that there was a luxury store in Africa! And the sheriffs were standing there with guns and they looked amazing! I came back home after shopping and went to an Indian restaurant after resting. We ate crab curry, papaya, chop steak, and fried rice there. Crab curry was the most fascinating thing, but I couldn't reach it because I was too lazy to eat it. But I had a delicious dinner and came back home. It was one of the most rainy days, and it was a scary day because of the thunder and lightning. 아프리카에서 여행5일째. 오늘은 숙취에 힘들어하면서 잠에서 깼어.. 너무 힘들었지만 열심히 차를 타고 동물원에 갔는데 비가 와서 바로 넬슨 만델라 스퀘어에 갔어. 차에서 정말 너무 힘들었어... 나는 가서 쇼핑센터를 둘러보고 사진도 찍었어. 광장같은 곳에는 엄청 큰 낼슨 만델라동상이 있었고, 다양한 동상들이 많았어. 마치 전시회에 간 기분이였어. 사진을 찍고 센터 안에 들어갔는데 이곳에는 구찌같은 명품매장들이 많았어. 아프리카에 명품매장이 있다는 게 신기했어! 그리고 보안관들이 총을 들고 서 있는데 엄청 멋져보이더라! 쇼핑을 끝내고 집으로 돌아와 쉬다가 인도 음식점에 갔어. 그곳에서는 게로 만든 카레, 파파야로 만든 팟타야, 찹스테이크, 볶음밥을 먹었어. 게 카레가 제일 신기했는데 역시 게는 먹기 귀찮아서 손이 잘 안갔어..! 그래도 맛있는 저녁을 먹고 다시 집으로 돌아왔어. 이날은 비가 많이 오는 날 중 하루였는데 정말 천둥 번개가 많이 쳐서 무서웠던 하루였어.

It is impossible to not be amazed and engaged, when you look closely at the artwork of Toni Ann Ballenden, who is at the pinnacle of her art career. She is as well-known and established artist in South Africa, whose artwork, has grown through figurative artwork into abstraction. Her process of abstraction has been derived from the process of destroying artworks through tearing and cutting, then re-constructing torn and cut pieces of artworks into a new work. There is a paradox, between the act of destroying through cutting and tearing, followed by an act of creating, where something new, beautiful and peaceful emerges. Her abstracted works speak of process in her artwork as content. “My history in art is figurative, drawings not good enough were burnt or cut up violently. I consistently destroyed my work and threw it away. In 2015 I received a residency at The Bag Factory, an experience that led my work into abstraction. I found a way to use my destructive process as a more positive creative journey, cutting up failed works and resembling them into the abstract works I produce today.” Ballenden’s works are currently on exhibition at Artyli.
