You could say that the book reveals a level of hidden deepness rarely seen or noticed. We finished this book with such weirdly conflicting feelings that left us dumbfounded. We found this book to be exhausting in such an addictive way, we were like some welcomed hostages to this book (just as we suppose the main character was). We wonder who among you will sympathise with the murderers and pity the victims, who else among you will laugh and be sickened, who else will have had enjoyed the ironies, watched the consequences unfold with shock, and absorbed the rambling reflections of a man intensely, just like we did. The loose morals around the events efficiently wove a narrative that swayed Richard and Charles, soddened with a lifelong burden. It swayed Francis and Camilla, the broken hearted darlings, to the shadow and ease and abstract that was named Henry. Agiasos (Αγιάσος) : Agiasos is a village located 24km west to the Mytilene. The village famous for its potteries and wooden carvings. You can see many art shops and pottery stores. When you walk around Agiasos, it can be seen beautiful stone built houses and flowered balconies with colorful views. The church of Panagia is located at the center of the town. It is one of the largest churches on the island. Each year in 15th August, lots of people around to Greece visit this church to celebrate the festival. When you enter the town, firstly you can see this clock tower in the photo. All flowers look so colorful like all around the village. Affascinante, emozionante e da togliere il fiato. Queste le prime parole che mi vengono dopo aver terminato la lettura di questo romanzo. Costanza Casati è riuscita attraverso la sua scrittura a rievocare, dando voce e vita, a una delle Regine più temute della mitologia greca: Clitemnestra. Principessa di Sparta prima, Regina di Micene e moglie di Agamennone dopo. Figura mitologica complessa, forgiata come spartiata e donna guerriera, Clitemnestra da sempre lotta contro il dolore e le ingiustizie. In un mondo greco dominato dal maschilismo, lei deve farsi strada con le unghie e con i denti per conquistare rispetto, lealtà e fedeltà. Uno stile fluido e piacevole quello dell'autriche, che mi ha totalmente rapita e trascinata al fianco della protagonista. Con lei ho ripercorso tutta la sua vita partendo dalla giovinezza trascorsa accanto alla sorella Elena e al resto della famiglia, andando poi al matrimonio con Agamennone e il suo governo della città di Micene. Dalla narrazione traspare ogni emozione provata da Clitemnestra, la sofferenza, il dolore, la rabbia e la vendetta. Ne sono rimasta davvero affascinata, non riuscivo a lasciare giù il libro perché dovevo assolutamente andare avanti e assistere all'evoluzione degli eventi. Nonostante sia un mito noto e conosciuto, è stato meraviglioso ripercorrerlo attraverso gli occhi di Clitemnestra, una donna forte, forgiata dalle battaglie e dalla sofferenza. Una lettura intensa ed entusiasmante da non perdere assolutamente, soprattutto dagli amanti del genere.
