A couple of weeks ago I figured out rag rug making so I could teach a coaster making workshop @dunn_county_history . During the learning process, I saw a lot of similarities between rag rug making and braided rug making. When I returned home after the workshop, I realized that could use my first tries (rectangles) to make a new laundry basket, so here goes! I’ve been in need of a new laundry basket and am adamant about having a natural fiber, fair trade or secondhand option. (So sick of plastic.) L'oignon jaune 🧅 . "C'est la plus facile des teintures et le résultat n'est jamais décevant." Ce n'est pas moi qui le dit, c'est Élisabeth Dumont dans son livre "Teindre avec les plantes" et elle a raison ! . De belles teintes curry orangé qui tirent sur un kaki un peu brun avec le nuançage au fer 🧡 . Collecter des pelures d'oignons prend sacrément du temps, elles sont toutes légères... Depuis quelques semaines, j'en récupère chez @altermarche : le super restaurant / traiteur / épicerie bio et local de Saint-Maur ! Merci Nicolas !! Un peu de douceur pour terminer l'année . Le plaisir de voir ce tablier japonais porté et tout cracra 🤗 .
