Over the holidays, I’ve had some time to catch up on Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty DLC. The rest I spent on completing few AI courses I started months ago. As I eagerly await the arrival of my new EX30, this blend of cars, gaming and AI has inspired me once again to experiment a bit with image generation. On Friday, I had the chance to test drive the EX30, and here are my thoughts: 🇸🇪 Swedish Minimalism vs Safety: One of the most noticeable features in the EX30 is the lack of a screen directly in front of the steering wheel. This design choice has raised some concerns over safety, which is quite unexpected from a brand synonymous with safety like Volvo. Adapting to the central speedometer was a bit of a challenge, and for now I found myself over the speed limit more often than not. 🚀 Drive Experience: The car’s performance is impressive. Smooth and responsive, it’s easy to enjoy the drive – just keep an eye on that central speedometer! Plus, it has a small turning radius, making maneuvers and tight turns a breeze. 🏗️ Material Quality: Even the Ultra trim of the EX30 does reveal some cost-saving choices in materials. But these don’t drastically diminish the overall quality of the car. The minimalist interior gives a strong impression of durability, a positive aspect for long-term use. 🪞 Stylish Touches: The Polestar-style mirrors and the square-ish steering wheel add a unique character to the car. The physical buttons on the wheel are a welcome feature, offering a good alternative to the touch-sensitive ones found in some other models. 🔋 Battery Range: The range at nearly full charge was showing about 330 km, falling short of the advertised 476 km. This could be a consideration for long-distance travel (but note this is a demo car with not even with 1000 km on the clock, so not that much real world driving data). 🔍 Comparison with XC40: It’s clear the EX30 is an entry-level option compared to the XC40. It’s more affordable, but with some trade-offs in features and materials. More compact size is a better fit for my daily drives. 💭 Final Verdict: Weighing all aspects, I’ve decided to give the EX30 a chance. My gray EX30 Single Motor Extended Range should arrive in about 10 weeks. I’m looking forward to seeing how it fits into my daily life! Stay tuned for more updates on my electric journey! ⚡

[👉] In my previous attempt, I wasn't entirely satisfied with how Łódź was depicted. This time, I concentrated on refining my prompt to accurately capture the true essence of the city and the car in a single image. I experimented with multiple query iterations, generated numerous scenes, and dozens of image variations to reach a point where I felt the post-industrial charm of my hometown was genuinely represented. Ultimately, I ended up creating not just one, but several compelling images. Through this process of refining and iterating, I achieved a satisfying outcome that, in my view, authentically captures the Porsche 718 Cayman within Łódź's mesmerizing surroundings. For this piece I prompted Midjourney to bring together two familiar things – my hometown, and my Porsche. The initial idea was to capture an image featuring black 987 Boxster against the backdrop of Łódź's post-industrial charm, with its red brick architecture and historic buildings. Nonetheless, AI faced a lot of challenges in reflecting accurate details of the car, such as the roof was half-open in many of the generated images. To overcome these issues, I decided to switch to a more modern and non-convertible model, the 718 Cayman. I wanted to emphasize the contrast between the car's sleek, contemporary design, and the timeless urban setting of Łódź, with soft shadows, light leaks, and a warm, muted color palette. For this image, I wanted to blend reality with a touch of the surreal. My vision was to capture a classic, silver Porsche 911 Turbo speeding across the lunar landscape, motion blur, starry night sky and Earth as a breathtaking backdrop. A seemingly ambitious request, but AI did not get that one exactly right. As it turns out, achieving the perfect image is not an easy feat. Nevertheless, something about this scene got my curiosity and pushed me to explore it further. Hey everyone! In today's post, I'll share some of my recent experience with Midjourney as I attempted to create a perfect classic Porsche scene. To achieve timeless elegance, gentle shadows, and a nostalgic feel, I tested multiple prompts and model calibrations. It was an interesting process, but quite some generated images had unrealistic details or oddities. For example, I noticed that some images oddly had the front of the car in the back (?), or in panning shots, the driver was either entirely absent or inaccurately depicted. Also, I couldn’t get the license plates right. Nevertheless, by tweaking my requests and creating variations of the selected photo, I finally achieved an image that aligned with my initial concept. AI-driven tools like Midjourney are constantly improving, so we can expect even higher-quality results in the near future. Don't be afraid to experiment and push the limits of your imagination when using image generation tools. With patience and persistence, you can achieve the perfect visual representation of your concepts. The cars exhibited at Interclassics Maastricht made quite an impression on me. The display was truly remarkable and showcased the passion and dedication of those who preserve these vintage automobiles. One other thing that caught my attention was the number of visitors who brought their dogs along to the event, adding to the already vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. During the weekend I visited Interclassics Maastricht. Among the abundance of classic Ferraris, Bugattis and Porsches, I picked something less obvious to show you - Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. With two seats, mid-engine, turbo, and a four wheel drive it does not resemble the everyday car you may remember. 200 examples were built to satisfy homologation rules for Group B rally championship. I've had this Aston Martin DB5 sitting in a box for some time. Part of that was that I didn't really have an idea for it. Knowing pretty well all the recent James Bond movies though, it finally got me that the reneissance Italy would be the perfect setting.
