#sawitonabikeride The Elkhorn Tavern. First built in 1833. By 1839, over 11,000 Native Americans had passed by on their forced migration to Indian Territory (Trail of Tears). Later served as a trading post, unofficial stop for the Butterfield Stage, a post office, polling place, eating establishment, church of the Benton County Baptist Society, and inn.
