Sharing some of my favorite spots and places during my visit to NYC. 1 - @publichotels - a chic, modern and sophisticated hotel right in the heart of Chrystie Street. 2 - @serrabybirreria - a rooftop restaurant that’s inspired from the countryside of Southern Italy. Great food! Probably the best roasted chicken I’ve tried ever! 3 - @thecampbellnyc - tucked away inside the Grand Central Terminal, this iconic bar was the location of the new Gossip Girl series. Superb selection of cocktails! 4 - @popularnyc - Peruvian cuisine with a modern and global twist by Chef Diego Munoz. Delicious! 5 - @swanroomnyc - found in a former bank room, Swan Room is a place where you can relax and chill with good selection of cocktails. 6 - @doublechickenpleasenyc - the best bar in North America and number 6 in the world this year! One of the best cocktails I’ve tried in a very long time. Their chicken popcorn is addicting too! Will definitely come back! 7 - @themorganlibrary - JP Morgan’s private collection on display. Grand and elegant all throughout. 8 - @burgerjointnyc - Anthony Bourdain’s favorite burger spot in NYC. Hidden in a hotel, their burgers and fries are definitely a must try. Simple yet very delicious! Comfort food at its finest! 9 - @pocha32 - located at KTown, this Korean restaurant is fulllll all night! If you want your Korean fix, this place is for you! late nights at @pocha32 🦑 BBQ Squid Soondae - 9/10. I would literally go back just for this dish alone. The squid and stuffed pork were so aromatic and flavorful! It was wildly mild. 🐷🥟Boiled Pork Dumplings - 8/10. These dumplings did not taste the same as the ones my parents made, but they were still really good. The restaurant was very generous here with the portions, and I also thought the meat-to-dough ratio was well-matched. 🌽🧀Corn Cheese - 5/10. This honestly was the biggest letdown that night. It lacked flavor and didn’t taste anything too special. It just felt like a literal slap of cheese on top of corn... 🍉🍾Watermelon Soju - 7/10. The drink was a little watered down, somehow…still got me drunk. The restaurant also offers a pineapple and melon soju that I’ve seen other people rave about. It’s definitely worth the experience to try. (2021) Another of my favourite spots in NYC, @pocha32. I remember the first time I walked up the stairs — feeling like it was some secretive ‘thing’ — to get to the second floor with @les_er_3. I walked in, and thought, “wow. Where has this been all my life?” The ceiling is lined with netting, fairy lights and Soju bottle caps giving it a very industrial and raw gastropub vibe. Mix that with the metal panels on the walls, neon signage and circular tables — it gives all the feels! I remember watching the drama, “Itaewon Class” and thinking, “that is SO very Pocha 32!” — another one that is so good, so memorable, and an absolute favourite that I will miss. I loved it so much!! @alyssakohler and @connar_funck went on a #datewithmatt! 📍: @sushibybou_ 🗣: I had two fans fly across the country begging for a date with me, and I had no choice but to accommodate! Between omakase, rooftop views, and watermelon sake, we had a nice night filled with great conversation and free-flowing vibes 🌬 🍽: For Alyssa’s bday date we wanted to do something we’ve never done before — omakase. Our favorites were the fatty tuna, albacore, and the wagyu/uni rolls, but truly everything was incredible. We were surprised with some free sake shots by the waiters, and our sushi chefs were, in two words, chill dudes. Even our resident sushi hater Connar couldn’t deny his love for this meal. We loved the hip hop themes of this location and for the price, I could not recommend this place more! Special shoutout to our afterparty spot @pocha32 for the watermelon soju bowl, we slurped it up in 10 seconds and it was worth all the hype. 👨⚖️: This date had high expectations, but luckily I was able to live up to them, and my hot dates made the night worth every penny I spent on them!
