The High 5 Initiative went for water testing where Rock Run meets the Susquehanna River. We did see that the dissolved oxygen has already started to drop. We are still in a healthy range, but if levels get too low, you could see fish kills. Remember, what we do in our own backyards can end up in the river. Please avoid fertilizers and pesticides. While we were there, we did pick up trash along the shore and rocks before it ended up in the Susquehanna. We were pleased to be joined by a young fisherman that was there. Sorry we didn't get a picture. Considering the amount of tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay and the enormous area of the watershed, community scientists are crucial in collecting data and we are proud to assist @allianceforthebay and @iwla_org in the Chesapeake Monitoring Cooperative!
