Halloween Dejavu ☠️ Last year, I was trying to finish up the outside foundation project during the day and then hurried up and got cleaned up to go out trick or treating with the whole tribe. This year, I was working on digging up the last piece of this basement drainage project since the rain has put a halt on our roofing. Then I got cleaned up for a low-key evening handing out candy with Cea and the Kitty. Solid Black Tribal cover up, I have been working on for quite some time. Still not entirely finished or shaded completely yet. This tattoo has been a vast process of selectively lasering out certain areas over and over to lighten the solid black and then also trying to work somewhat creatively to mask the previous tsttoo without sacrificing the composition of the new one. TATTOOS ARE NOT PAINT. You can not just lay a new one over an existing and make it a cover up. Over time, the darker pigments underneath will always show back through. That's why you have to take into account the old tattoo into the design process and sometime even do a rework session later down the road just to further beef up the new tattoo as the old one fades. I am also a huge advocate for laser removal, at least done selectively in future light areas by an artist. #rockandruthless #tylerwalstrom #coverup #coveruptattoo

Trying to make the best out of my days outside of the tattoo shop. It's been a busy time though, in the last 3 days I've only eaten 3 meals... We got a 26ft conveyor put into place to the basement. Then, we realized we had to design and build a temporary construction door due to an in-swinging door. Then, to try to keep the material moving out to where I can scoop it up, we built a ramp out of what used to be giant scrap that was left on the property when I purchased it. No matter what line of work you are in, you always gotta be thinking with a creative mind. Been grinding out pretty hard along with some good friends to try to clean out this basement. Working on digging up the incorrectly done and shallow perimeter drain and installing a much deeper adequate system. Many corners seem to be cut with the construction back then, so I am trying to redo them they way they should have been done the first time. The moisture and water problems has literally destroyed so much of the contents that was left here, leaving it an unusable space. My plan is to get it under control, dry and clean enough to be able to eventually make all the Rock & Ruthless Merchandise in house. But it is a long way from that point still. Clean out and demo was a job in itself.
