The Apache Death Cave, located near the ghost town of Two Guns, Arizona, is a site steeped in legend and tragedy. The story dates back to 1878 when Apache raiders attacked a Navajo settlement, killing all but three girls. In retaliation, Navajo scouts tracked the Apaches to a cave. To avenge their people, the Navajo set a fire at the cave entrance, causing the death of approximately 42 Apache warriors by asphyxiation. This horrific event led to the cave being known as the Apache Death Cave. In the 1920s, a man named Harry Miller turned the site into a tourist attraction, building fake ruins and selling bones found in the cave. He referred to it simply as "Apache Cave," and it wasn't until later that the more dramatic "Death Cave" story became widely known, largely popularized by western writer Gladwell Richardson Today, the cave and the surrounding ruins of Two Guns remain abandoned, drawing visitors intrigued by its dark history and ghostly reputation. Cadillac Ranch and its the many types of art: First you have the main attraction which are the spray painted Caddies. Second you have the chunks of spray paint that peel away or are taken off and made into things like jewelry and wall art. Croc, the man in the photo, is the creator of such pieces and is most famous for how jewelry. It comes out gorgeous and is high in quality, you'll pay a decent amount for one of his pieces, but it is well worth it. Brandon has been instructed to shop their for our next anniversary. Third type of art is the unintentional art that is made by the left over spray paint cans. They were scattered on the ground and although they created a cool scene alongside the Cadillacs, it really bothered me to see that people don't pick up after themselves. The Snow Cap is by far one of the coolest places to stop on Route 66. This quirky little shack was made from scrap material by the Delgadillo brothers. Customers who appreciate a good practical joke will love this place. I fell victim to some fake mustard, a hand full of straw (the grass) and the craziest straw I've ever attempted to drink out of. Inside the Oatman hotel lies a saloon covered in hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Literally covered from top to bottom. I was reading about the saloon and hotel and it turns out they are both supposedly haunted. Money and drinks have been seen floating on top of tables and shoes prints have appeared on newly cleaned floors.
