When you first think of Good Friday, your first question might be what makes it good? How could the worst injustice that the world has ever known towards the incarnate God, Jesus Christ, be good? In the last week of his life, Jesus was mocked, flogged, tortured, and eventually murdered. Jesus knew what he was getting himself into; yet he went willing and humbly laid down his life because he knew the absolute, wonderful, best news was going to come from it. This is how we know what love is! 1 Peter 3:18 says, āFor Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.āā ā This, friends, is good news. Jesus has laid down his life for us in order that we might be reconciled to God; he paid the once-for-all payment for our sins so we donāt have to. Though we grieve today for the immeasurable suffering he endured on our behalf, we also rejoice knowing that Sunday is comingāthat sin, evil, death, and suffering have been definitively defeated. But for now, may we remember to grieve and appreciate what Christ endured on our behalf. Enter into his presence and thank him, glorify him for making redemption possible by his atoning death on the cross. Itās Friday, but Sunday is coming!

One time, I was growing through a trialš¢, and heard "It would be better if you willingly practiced accepting this HEARTACHE šwithout understanding everything." I was surprisedšÆ. I remember, thinking,š² "Whaaaat? Accept?" Then i heard, "It would be better if you seen Pain šas a blessing causing you to FEELšš." Even though, I did not fully understand those two whispers, I really felt they were the answers to help me grow through and past the bamboozled emotions I was feeling. I did not want be numbš, going through the motionsš¶, and so what did I Do? I bowed down,š thanking God for giving me the wisdom što recognize the shaping of my characterš through the painš, and the strength šŖ I needed to endure this particular training process.š I HAVE MANY VIEWPOINTS TO PAIN. EVERY SITUATION IS DIFFERENT, BUT STAYING FOCUSED ON THIS GROWING MOMENT, What i learned was, sometimes, pain, however it hits,whether through offense,mistake, or unexplained tragedy, can be DEEPER than what is preferred. Moreso, the deeper it is, at times, the more triggers to past hidden/forgotten, hurt pop up, but that is the exact pain that God does not want you or me to live with anymore. HE WANTS TO HEAL US. Therefore, ONE VIEWPOINT I am sharing to encourage you is THE deeper THE PAIN,the DEEPER the growth of INTIMACY WITH TRUTH. The truth that sets you and me free from unhealthy residue from past.
