🔥QUICK QUESTION FOR YALL🔥 What are your favourite genres to write? So urban fantasy, sci-fantasy, paranormal thriller and contemporary were my picks for favourite genres. Well now why you ask? Well: - Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Thriller: I love the idea of mythological creatures living in a modern world where such creatures are considered myths to the public eye, and exploring how such an environment would affect them. Would they enjoy the anonymity or would they want to be able to go out and be themselves even though the world around them would most likely persecuted them for just being who they are? Also, I love the tropes that I can use and bend to my favour. - Sci-fantasy: This has more to do with my childhood fascinations with space and aliens thanks to Star Wars and Warhammer 40k. While I’m not a scientific person, I do like fantastical stories set in space or on alien worlds more than strictly high fantasy settings. The use of magic in an advanced setting or an alien planet has an aesthetic that pleases the inner kid in me. And also, I like big space battles 🤷🏾♂️ - Contemporary Fiction: Though I’m a fan of exciting new worlds, at its core it’s the emotional element of any narrative that hooks me in. I’m fascinated more about interpersonal connections between people and while I favour writing more fantasy or outlandish stories, I always try to incorporate “human elements” as the centre piece, and writing contemporary fiction does allow me to explore character drama and psychology far more in depth that I would with the other two genres.
