Veiled Lady Candle This candle is based on a sculpture that was created by Raphaele Monti in 1847. The sculpture depicts a Vestal Virgin, the priestesses of the Ancient Roman goddess Vesta. Vesta is responsible for maintaining the sacred fire that symbolizes the home and hearth. These Lumen Moon hand-poured blood red hued candles are scented with Salem Cottage, a tangy cranberry and juicy red apple sprinkled with just the right amount of sugared cinnamon spice. The Veiled Lady weighs approximately 4 ounces and is a blend of soy and paraffin wax. ✨Who else played in that Pink Moon’s Magic?✨ Watching that moon rise over a mountain in Sedona as coyotes howled (somewhere nearby) was an unforgettable experience. Bats started to swirl around us as we packed our bags for the 30 minute walk in the moonlight. I asked @glasswingmedicine to sing as we walked - not only because I love her music, but I was hoping the coyotes would hear us coming. I know that they avoid people mostly. Something exciting on the horizon! 🌱✨️ The horrors and suffering in the West Bank, as well as several other g3noc1des has left me hurting, angry, and wanting to do more for the world. In addition to my efforts to educate myself and support current movements in whatever ways I can, I realized my talents and passion for decolonial healing is needed more than ever. I'm already working on fully booting up my healing practice and offering free slots to activists and organizers, and BIPOC. And sliding scale/barter/donation based services for anyone else. I have a lot of Imposter Syndrome around my ability to create space and provide healing, but after doing free Reiki and energy readings for folks at a Palestine fundraiser I realized that I am enough already. I still have a lot to learn but I am approaching this time period with an open mind, curiosity, and a student mindset. The journey will be lifelong and I'll never stop learning but I am needed now. Every person is needed now and has been. Even you. We cannot afford to think that we are too small to make a change, for Palestinians, for anyone facing oppression. MADONNA I have an affinity for the Virgin Mary and I can see why it confuses many people. A Dark Witch finding beauty in the Madonna, Mother of Christ. It's a little ironic and I completely understand. I was Mormon for 36 years. In Mormonism there is no worship of Mary or even a basic acknowledgment of a Heavenly Mother. As someone who has always felt so connected to Goddess energy, I felt robbed of not having that aspect to cling to or to support me as a girl and woman within the church. I would secretly look to the archetype of Mary as that divine connection I so desperately needed. I was always a little jealous of Catholics because they had access to the mystery and magic of Mary. She felt very forbidden and off limits to me. I tried so very hard to navigate Mormonism and how to exist within that religion. When I finally left I sacrificed my community, relationships, everything I had ever been taught. I had to completely dismantle every rule, every way of being, and reconstruct who I was in the world. It was an incredibly challenging time for me. Despite this complete overhaul of being, I have always tucked my appreciation of Mary safely underneath my breast. In a strange way she helped bridge my descent into the unknown. At times she and I are wary of each other because we clearly exist on opposite spectrums of mysticism. However, she sees me and I see her and we have an understanding. I have acquired many gorgeous items that depict the Virgin Mary which can be found throughout my home and studio. I also like to create pieces that embody her along with my weird little twists. I hand-poured this candle with what I call a double pour. Multiple colors of wax are used at various temperatures to create this type of look. Each candle comes out unique and one of a kind. She burns beautifully and makes a lovely addition to altar spaces or as unique decor. The firey rage of Mars is starting to fade away but not without a fight (duh this is Mars we’re talking about). Tonight on the west coast the moon settles into her full phase opposite the sun and mars. The moon is in Gemini bringing air to the flames. We want to take action and that is honestly the best way to handle this transit. Channel the energy into your passions and something that will light you up and focus the fire in a constructive way. It’s never that easy though. We have Saturn here making what’s called a T-Square aspect shape. Meaning Saturn is making squares (90°angles) to both the Sun and the Moon. Adding in some frustrations and set backs. Anything you want to achieve right now will not only need force but it will need consistency and patience. This energy will be very potent until Dec. 3rd when Mars stops making the square to Saturn. You will need patience to get through any of the obstacles Saturn sends your way. @nightlightastrology spoke of the Mars/Saturn connection in one of his recent videos and called it “cutting and separating” energy. This idea of Mars being the sword that cuts and Saturn being the separator stuck with me and I can see it in many areas of my life. Things will be cut away from us and we may have to do some removals ourselves. When a full moon is in Gemini she wants change and freshness. We cannot see change in the world, if we ourselves do not change. So if you are having issues with someone right now, try a new approach to the situation. Use Mars to help you have passion and drive to change, but use the discernment of Saturn to not obliterate your competition. Mars energy can have a tendency to strike back with more force than it was attacked with. Slow and strong is the name of the game right now. When the moon is in Gemini we can look to Mercury (gems ruler) for more insight. Mercury happens to be caught up in a square to Neptune. Mercury is having trouble doing what they do best (communication) while having Neptune feed them opium and insisting everything would be fine if they just relaxed and chilled out. Mercury doesn’t want to chill out though. They have important information to deliver - expect delays.
