Personal designs such as Buttonholes, Corages & Flowercrowns I think encapsulate the whole wedding, they are the icing on the cake and featured in most of the photos youβll look back on time after time. This beautiful day fell in the summer of 2022 but these tones and textures make such a statement in Clevedon Hall regardless of the season.β β I brought together avalanche roses, astilbe, veronica, jasmine, sweet peas, olive, eucalyptus and Jeanne Moreau roses to create displays that had β a striking contrast between the blooms and greenery but also with plenty of texture.β β I love the super subtle styling of the small stem of eucalyptus upon each place setting - so elegant.β β Captured by Christina Sarah Photography
Why do Wedding Flowers cost what they do? I often hear the phraseΒ mention weddings and watch the Β£ increase. This is simply not the case. Like any skilled service, the cost of the actual product, in my case flowers and sundries is not the only cost. Here is a list of the steps carried out for each wedding. 1.Emails, consulting and carrying out site visits. 2.Designing & crafting of bespoke mood boards & proposals 3.Sourcing flowers from local growers & overseas. Creating flower spreadsheets for each individual wedding to ensure the couple have the absolute best product & we order the right amount. 4.Sourcing sundries, booking in freelance staff & van hire. 5.Prepare the studio, cleaning out all our buckets & vessels. 6.Then we begin working with the flowers. Unloading deliveries & sometimes we must go & collect if using multiple growers. Condition every single stem & then we start designing. Wedding prep begins at the beginning of the week, set up Saturdays & clear down Sunday. Being a one-person band like so many of us in the wedding industry, means we donβt have a marketing team, accounts, administrator so all this work must be carried out daily, alongside all the above. Creating flowers for a wedding is a highly pressured job, we are working with a living product and have mother nature to contend with whilst also having βoneβ shot to get it right. I love my job and feel lucky to do what I do. But I have also worked so hard to get here, almost 10 years of training and experience, and I continue to every day. ππ©π’π³ππ°π΅π΅π¦ & ππ―π₯π³π¦πΈβ One of my favourite weddings from 2023 - Charlotte and Andrew's wedding oozed romance, starting with a ceremony in St Arilda Church followed by celebrations at Old Down. The addition of beautiful, soft pastel-toned flowers was the perfect touch.β β You can only imagine how beautiful my studio looked putting these floral arrangements together. A bucket of sunshine and happiness on this snowy morning! Weβve already been on the phone to our gardening consultants (aka our mums!) to check what effects the snow will cause on our bulbs and plants and how best to care for them.
