One of my favorite sites, Arrow Rock, comes with a lovely ramp right into the water—and it's typically some of the warmest and fishiest water at the lake, thanks to the sun exposure here. Check out Stateline Point on the site (link in bio) for more info. This was taken a few months ago when the water was still warm-ish and the fish were indeed out in force. Right now, you can find a few fish tucked in amongst the rocks and even see a handful scooting around the shallows on sunny days. I actually jumped in and went regular old swimming here a couple weeks ago with a friend. Temps were in the low 50s (~10C). Apologies for all the radio silence. This was the #bestbeachever!! We loved it so much. I could’ve stayed there all day. So we stayed too long and the kids got over it. #toomuchsun #hangry And they let me know that, by throwing wet sand. And there were moments on this trip, like on the way to the airport, when we all had a lot of feelings and I had the thought, “their fighting is RUINING this trip!” And I’m really glad I didn’t say this to them, even though I wanted to. Because after we checked our heavy ass ski bags and ate some surprisingly good airport Mexican food, everyone felt much better. And I could remind myself that perspective is everything. It’s not the kids’ behavior that makes (or breaks) the trip but my own internal experience and responses to it. Sibling rivalry is normal. Kids reacting to stress in immature ways is normal. If I can resource myself I can respond to them much more lovingly and THAT is what sets the tone of the trip….so breathing helps. Perspective helps. Mexican food helps. #Coldwaterswimming helps! A big nibble of an edible after dropping off the rental car helps. Anyway, #speedboatbeach is gorgeous and I highly recommend taking your kids there to #throwsand. 😆 ❤️ #laketahoe
