The last few rides on this weapon have been about getting things right. Got most things done straight away but suspension took a bit of graft. The last day took us from Keene, NH to Northfield, Massachusetts to complete our border to border ride through New Hampshire. Not an easy last day and some major routing errors on my part led to an interesting morning. All part of the adventure and we got it done. Finally explored some roads I'd looked at on the map for a long time and rode through some new areas of Pisgah State Park. Check out the next post for some additional details on the entire route.

Rain finally caught up with us. 82 miles from Waterville Valley to New London. Pretty epic day, pictures don't show much because my lense was covered in water droplets most of the day. Wasn't terribly cold so overall it was a great day. My phone died so check out @hartty_11 post for some funny videos. 98 miles to go!
Woah, crazy day. Started in Gorham with a mellow uphill rail trail towards Jefferson Notch Road. All excited to get breakfast at the Waterwheel Restaurant. Boom! Closed on Wednesdays. Forget about it we're rolling on. Up and over Jefferson Notch and down into Crawford Notch. Quick lunch at the Highland Center then an epic descent through the notch. Cruised through the valley to Sawyer River Road. Up a mellow grade to the Sawyer River Trail and then continued up to the Kancamagus Highway. A quick jaunt uphill took us to the Livermore Trail. That's when the real fun began. Started out mellow with some fun technical but rideable singletrack. After a while it became an extended push bike then a 20 minute carry bike up through Livermore Pass (picture 7 is the trail). Once we gained the pass it was another 20 minutes of flat push bike till we hit the downside of Livermore Trail. Then began a super fun fast two track descent with a thick blanket of leaf cover. Down a ways then onto some XC ski trails to the top of a small ski slope above Waterville Valley. A quick bomb downslope and into the valley. Steak fajitas for dinner and it's bedtime. Epic day (64 Miles - 5700ft)
Traversing the White Mountains Part 1.
Wrapped up the east side of the Coos Loop today. Pretty incredible day. 83 miles with only a few miles of pavement. Some truly remote riding. Dipped into Maine for some miles passing by Lake Umbagog. From there it was over the hill onto North Road where we caught our first look at the mighty White Mountains. Descended into Berlin and then onto Gorham where we're spending the night. Tomorrow begins the section of the route that hasn't been named yet.
Day 1 of the Coos Loop definitely ramped up with a lot more snowmobile trails and rougher surfaces. Definitely a hard fought 57 miles today. We're finally rolling south.
Wrapped up the VTXL this afternoon. What an epic route. Thanks @joecruzpedaling and everyone who helped to create it. Thanks to @bikepackingcom for providing info on these routes. Thanks to the state of Vermont and the people of Vermont for being amazing. Had so much fun riding this route northbound and I'm convinced that it has to be the "funner" direction. Hardtail was definitely over biking but there was numerous memorable descents that were so much fun with some suspension and XC tires. Thanks to @stantonbikes for making the epic frame that is the Switch9er. I think everyone should own a hardtail but this route could be ridden on so many types of bikes and still be a blast. Tomorrow we connect to the Coos Loop and head north to the Pittsburgh, NH border crossing. From there we turn south along the east side of the Coos loop until Gorham, NH. From Gorham we will be riding a route that I pieced together on @ridewithgps. Tomorrow begins a whole new adventure.
