Cykeltur 23 april – Kortare tur via Skiftinge, Vallby kyrka och Näckrosleden till Torshälla – Del 3 Cyklade sedan vidare nedför Birgersgatan till Storgatan med vy över Brogatan (1). Cyklade Storgatan bort mot Ruths gränd och Holmenleden (2). När Holmenleden passerade Torshällaån såg jag att nybygget på andra sidan ån kommit ganska långt (3). Tillbaka i Eskilstuna tog jag cykelvägen bakom Stighultsgatan (4) istället för att cykla utmed Torshällavägen eftersom cykelvägen där saknar beläggning efter grävarbeten. Tog sedan vägen förbi de nya husen i stadsdelen Norr på Munktellsgatan (5) och kom till Munktells gamla industriområde (6, 7) där Volvo BM (Numera Volvo Construction Equipment) huserade fram till 1993 innan de flyttade ut till Folkesta. Johan Theofron Munktell grundade verksamheten, och sedan han 1835 med understöd av allmänna medel företagit en resa för att studera den engelska järnindustrin, utvidgades företaget till ett större ”mekaniskt faktori”, som 1859 utvidgades genom anläggningen av Klosterströms gjuteri. År 1853 tillverkade bolaget Sveriges första ånglok, den så kallade förstlingen och 1859 tillverkades Sveriges första tröskverk. Företaget hette då Eskilstuna Mekaniska Verkstad. När jag lämnade Munktell möttes jag av japanska körsbär som varpå väg att slå ut (8). Tog sedan vägen genom Stadsparken förbi den nya äventyrslekplatsen (9) co avslutr med en bild Dambergsgatan (10). At least I have straightforward answers to those, but this is one I hardly have figured out myself, let alone give a satisfactory answer on the fly on the side of the road... Je dois admettre que je préfère les questions tout aussi fréquentes : "quelle est ta mission ?", "pour quelle cause collectes-tu des fonds ?" ou "où est ta voiture ?". Au moins, j'ai des réponses simples à ces questions, mais celle-là, j'ai du mal à y répondre moi-même et encore moins à y répondre de manière satisfaisante à la volée sur le bord de la route... A walk around Retiro Park (including a cat napping in a tree and getting to chat with peacocks) then a bike tour of Madrid.
